  2. Ally Mayhaus sat out for HC; Sydney Shannon sat out for Brossart. Emily Schultz with huge game for Brossart....30 points and 14-for-14 from foul line. Brossart built close to 13-pt lead in second half before HC chipped away with some big 3's and Brossart missed a few FT's in 4th quarter....think HC cut it to 3 with a little less than a minute remaining. Deja Turner had very nice game as well with 24 points for HC.

    Yay Emily!!!!!

  3. Final from the J.T. Mulligan Classic held on Saturday at Lloyd Memorial High School in Erlanger, Ky..

It took the Brossart Lady Stangs a while to get rolling, while producing only 5 first quarter tallies to trail 9-5 at the first quarter stop. The second stanza was a complete reversal of first quarter form, as the gals in green exploded for 29 points, to take a 34-24 advantage to the locker room at halftime.

The Lady Stangs pushed out to a 48-31 lead, before the Lady Patriots rallied while scoring 9 unanswered points, cutting the Lady Stangs lead to 49-40 and causing Coach Josh Feldmann to have flashbacks of being overtaken by St. Henry by leading as many as 13 in the third quarter.

But the Lady Stangs would hit their free-throws down the stretch while cashing in on the Lady Pats aggressive full-court defense, to score some easy baskets and hold the visitors from the mountains at bay. Final Score 59-45 Brossart as the Lady Stangs even their season ledger at 1-1 while giving their head coach his 93td career victory as our head coach.

The Lady Stangs were led by Junior Abby King who scored 20 points while pulling down 8 rebounds. Senior Emily Schultz added 12 and Junior guard Olivia Nienaber contributed 9.

Stacy Stamper knocked down four 3-pointers to lead the Lady Patriots with 12, while Kristen Waugh added 10.

The Lady Stangs will face a stiff challenge this coming Tuesday night when we travel to the City of Beautiful Homes for an NKAC Division II showdown with the Highlands Lady Birds.

Thought Emily was a Junior this year.

    Congrats to Bishop Brossart.

  4. Gone are Stadtmiller, Verst, Futscher, Eisenman and Young but much like the Brossart boys, they are rebuilding BUT with a solid corp led by Schultz, Shannon, and King, all who saw substantial varsity minutes last year. Nienaber, Lloyd, Boesch and Buckingham are all capable and will lend depth.

While I tend to see things through my emerald colored glasses, I don't see this group being too shabby.

I have seen Schultz and Shannon play AAU ball the past two summers. They are good inside post players. Go Lady Tangs!

  5. Well, this sucks. The past couple of years we have been invited to and enjoyed scrimmaging some KHSAA teams at a couple of different scrimmage events. Been able to scrimmage Bath Co a couple of times, Berea. KHSAA changed their rules this year...can't even do pre-season scrimmages against KHSAA teams anymore. Puts a couple of holes in my schedule. I don't get it...these type scrimmage games weren't hurting anyone.:idunno:

Can't scrimmage KHSAA or nonKHSAA teams?

  6. any more inside information about NDA and how they will be? I spoke to a few parents at the soccer game last night and they are saying they are under the radar which is good by them but feel they are 1-3 when February comes around. I didn't realize who they all had. Great mix of seniors and under classman. None played a fall sport which means they are ready to go.

I am ready to see them play.
