  1. I'm rooting for MC in the 10th and SK in the 8th because I want to see part II of the battle in Jan.!

I think a much better storyline game would be a Scott/ SK game. A renewal of thier regular season rivalry. But that is getting way ahead of ourselves. Both teams have to play through some tough tournament games where if anything is certain this year is that truly anything can happen.

  2. It seems every poll that Mason Co is in, they are always on the losing end... Not sure if it's cause of the hate or if people really think we will lose. We keep proving wrong....so whatever. :sssh:

No offense, but this is the first one I have seen like this. Usually, the pole has them dominating. Then again poles are just the counting of opinions. Either way look for a great couple of games!!!

  3. I think you just put a whole lot of pressure on Scott's coaching staff and players.

If Scott played them close previously, then logic tells me that since Campbell cnty gave everyone a blueprint for success then maybe it should be a walk in the park?

I know you will back away from that but in essence that is what is being said

Don't see why that puts any pressure on Scott's coaching staff. And nope not backing away at all.

  4. Mason co may very well lose their next game. But what I find astonishing is how some of the 'homers' on here refuse to acknowledge what a nice team mason has.

I want get into their entire resume' but look at a very few facts:

2015 placed in final 4 of state tournament

2016 they have posted a 27 - 3 record of which is also against a sos of top 30

My question for the people on here bashing them and saying we are better is how? Give me one of your teams that can top the above two bullets.

Now I realize they may very well lose. E-town lost last year and I can say they would honestly have beaten HC 8 out of 10 games but that particular game wasn't meant to be. Anyone can lose and I sure don't think mason is on any hot streak so from what I'm hearing is your teams (cc and Scott) should role thru them. That's a lot of pressure on your respective teams because if the good mason shows up believe me you have your hands full.

And I have said nothing and will say nothing against them in the least. They have had an amazing season and made an amazing run last year. Take nothing away from thier accomplisments. And they are still the favorite.

But I don't think for a second they took Bracken or Bourbon lightly. I do however think the Campbell defeat laid out a road map on how to play against them, which I also believe Bracken and Bourbon were able to follow.

In the end no matter what happens in the rest of the 10th Region I look for some great basketball to be played both Friday and Saturday night.

  5. Sitting amongst the MC fans during the game I heard several comments from parents about how this was the worst they had seen thier team play all season. While that may or may not be true what is true is that both teams were slugging it out in every aspect of the game, from the physical rebounding, attacking drives to the brick wall picks (most notably the pick of O'Mara that leveled her....very tough kid).

That said, the one thing that I haven't read from anybody is the posibility that maybe teams have finally gotten enough looks at Mason County and figured a few things out.

Congrats to Mason on the win and a big shout out to Bourbon for not going quietly. What a great game to watch.

  6. Scott's defensive pressure the difference in this one.

Nicholas Co. Guard Shelby Stafford took a nasty fall on a attempted charge just before halftime and did not return to the bench area. Prayers that she's fine.

Hate to see injuries happen. She is a tough kid and took a big impact. Prayers to her and her family that it is nothing more than just a cobweb shaker and that she is back soon

  7. Wow, lots of back and forth dis cushion that is gething off topic. Bottom line is this is probably THE MOST COMPETITIVE 10th region as a whole in a long time with multiple teams that have strong chances to make real noise in our own back yard. No matter how it shakes out let's hope for a great tournament, filled with spectacular plays that result in a tournament that will be talked about for years to come.

  8. Campbell couldn't really press until late in the game when they were in a double digit deficit because they were hampered with foul trouble most of the game. Too much of a risk to take to press when you have starters on the bench in foul trouble.

Pretty sure only Kramer for CC and Kallmeyer for Scott were in foul trouble, both with 2 in the first quarter and both sat the rest of the half.

  9. 3 girls scored over 60 points where the other 2 double teamed?
And 4 scored more than 60 for Scott. What's your point? Like I said come watch the game and then make the comment on fact not box scores. Multiple times CC was slowed and/or forced to take contested peremiter shots. Some fell some didnt. But you can't see that from the box score. You would have had to be there to see it first hand.

This isn't two groups of individuals? This is two really good TEAMS!

  10. The Camels had 3 girls score over 20 points and 1 girl score 16. Sounds like Scott needs to work on their defense.

Seriously??? Cause 7 points in one of the fastest paced games with two of the fastest most athletic TEAMS in the state in the state of KY means only one team needs to play defense. Next time come to the game and see for yourself instead of reading thr box scores before make a comment like that.

  11. Both teams left it all on the floor, but the Lady Camels seemed to be the better conditioned team in the 4th and in OT. As stated by Sportsfan13, they seemed to find another gear late in the game.

Truth of it is the Eagles worked so hard to build thier lead by pressing most of the first half and chosing to play from out front rather than behind. Knowing thesee teams like I do it was the right strategy. In fact if 1 play goes different, 1 foul gets called differently, or 1 turnover doesnt happen in the last 2 minutes of regulation it is the Eagles cutting down the nets.
