Summer select baseball is very expensive and time consuming. Whether it be parent's budget, lack of time or interest. Most of the boy's on these teams are knothole player's, or don't play summer ball at all. The best teams year in and year out are loaded with select baseball player's.(check the tape). It is hard to compete with these teams when you are lucky to maybe have 1 or 2 select player's each year. This inevitably leads to losing most of the time which creates a lack of interest for younger boys coming up through these schools. My suggestion would be that coaches of these schools try to help get there kids on select summer teams.(If it can be afforded) This may change the culture of these programs. Alot of select summer teams work together to get player's to games and tournaments.

Gallatin County will return 3 key seniors this year in chase o'connor, Joe sargent and Nolan Wilson. Underclassmen mason Wilson will be an impact player on this team also.

I noticed NkyHS baseball has two pitchers ranked in the top preseason top ten. These are two very good pitchers but i would argue that Tristen Marcum(Simon Kenton) and Josh Bellew(Ryle) could have better seasons. that is if Simon Kenton players are considered Northern Kentucky players being their in the 8th region.

From my understanding it is at Henry County.

In the 32nd district this year should come down to Simon Kenton and Grant County. They both will return some very good players from last year's teams. Simon Kenton graduated about 7 seniors, but only 3 of them were full time players. They will have about 9 or 10 seniors on this years squad and 3 or 4 good juniors. Not all the seniors will be major contributors but 4 or 5 of them should be some of the best player's in the 8th region, Tristen Marcum, Micheal mundy, grant Wassom, tyler Smith and Sean Lawrence (junior). Pitching depth and defense will be their biggest question mark's. Grant county beat some of the better teams in Kentucky last year. They lost a few quality seniors but return key contributors from last year's team. walton-verona will be a younger group this year but does have talent. Does anyone know if the maevis brothers transferred to New Cath? (rumor i heard) williamstown graduated alot of seniors last year. They will be playing with a young team this year.

My top 5 in the eighth region this year would be Collins,Shelby Co.,S. Oldham, Simon Kenton and Spencer Co..But as i stated earlier this region should be one of the most competitive top to bottom. I am a little bit more familiar with the eastern half of this region. It spans quite a distance. Northern Kentucky almost to Louisville. owen Co., Grant Co. Walton and Gallatin co. all will be returning key players from last year's squads, should be an exciting season! Any information you guy's have on team's i did not mention would be appreciated.

The eighth region this year should have many competitive teams. collins is in most peoples top 5 in the state. The Oldham county schools are always pretty good. Simon Kenton is my darkhorse in this region, they only lost a few impact players from last years team. Simon Kenton will return several quality seniors in Micheal Mundy, Grant Wassom, Tristen Marcum, Tyler Smith, Travis Bryson and transfer Austin Richardson(Campbell county). All these Players should hit well. Juniors Sean Lawrence and Price Burge Should also have good seasons. there pitching will be led by Marcum and Lawrence, other pitchers will be Robert Smith, Luke Campbell, Travis Bryson and Brad Mulberry. If a couple of these pithers perform well and they play good defense in the field they should have a good season.

What about the 8th region?
