Some believe HHS will drop down to 4A where I believe they should be due to alignment. I won’t be surprised if Great Crossings moves up to 6A along with Douglas. Johnson Central would be interesting due to their enrollment. I believe they have enough to be 5A.

HHS will stay wherever CovCath is. Regardless of size, HHS shouldn't drop down simply due to the amount of 5A versus 4A schools in their area.

Thomas More is about to move to Division II into an Ohio-centric conference. They’ll have scholarships, unlike their time in Division III, but won’t be competing against some of the Kentucky powers they’ve been with in NAIA. Is this a good move or a bad move? Is this more or less appealing for a coach?

It really seems to be a lateral move in the end. While NCAA DII seems more prestigious, there are a lot of good NAIA schools that would dominate in most DII conferences. There just are some many layers to college sports to choose from.

A person not mentioned  that I believe would be a great hire for Campbell County is Rick Honaker who graduated from Campbell County.  He has been an offensive coordinator at Ryle under Bryson Warner back when they made the state title game in 2008 I believe. He has been an assistant coach at two colleges after he first left Ryle. Then came back to Ryle and eventually became the defensive coordinator under Engler. He is now down in Georgia as an offensive coordinator. He has experience coaching on both sides of the ball and has had success on both sides. He is a Campbell County guy, and is someone who I believe players would love to play for. I’m not sure if he has applied, but if he does I think he would be a great hire for Campbell and someone who would build it and be there for the long haul.

Rick is a great coach and an all around great choice if they went this direction. My son loved playing for him.

  4. At the end of the day you have to do what is right for you and your family. 12 years is a long time in any job anymore so I get the moving on aspect. I think ND needs to be in a conference and until they are, you won't really have the competitive advantage of any power 5 school. He is getting to the point in his career that if he wants to really leave a legacy, he has to win the championship and his best shot at that is in the SEC. I don't like the fact that any of these coaches leave before their seasons are actually over but that unfortunately is a loophole that doesn't look like it will ever be fixed.

As a long time Notre Dame fan, my pick isn't on this list.

I think they should go after John Harbaugh, I would love to see that yearly brotherly war with Michigan.

If I did go off this list, I would say Fitzgerald makes the most sense for the program. He already deals with high academia and showed that he knows what it takes to win.

One of the worst events to happen in college football in years. This guy bailed on his players and university, can never back him in any fashion the remainder of his coaching career.

Is this the 2nd or 3rd time he has done this? The NCAA needs to change the rules so coaches don't leave before their actual season is over.

How about Jim Harbaugh, Jimbo Fisher or Urban Meyer as next coach?

Maybe John Harbaugh or Matt Campbell. I could see the Harbaugh vs Harbaugh game becoming the biggest rivalry in college football.

Yeah, right. I guess some might stay, but I would imagine many may just enroll in college in January, especially scholarship guys. They can take part in spring practice.

It's really no different than when seniors graduated early to enroll in college so this makes sense.

If we don’t have an issue with the discrepancy in calls, one of two things must be true IMO: Ryle DOMINATED the line of scrimmage causing all the holding calls on Trinity, or Trinity is just that undisciplined.

I would say undisciplined, Ryle's DL really wasn't what it usually is this season. I don't believe there was a discrepancy in the calls. As I have said, they called a fair game. If you can, go back and re-watch the game on film and you will see.

I've been an official, you don't need to explain to me how difficult the job is.

10 to 3 in penalties is in no way "down the middle."

My point is that the officials called the game pretty even. I saw the hold after hold since I have always tended to watch the line of scrimmage more closely than most people do. If you can, go back and watch film and see it for yourself.

Now, I didn't agree with the fumbled punt being replayed, that was clearly Trinity's ball and that would be the only big mistake by the crew.

It happens virtually every time a Louisville team is playing away from Louisville in the playoffs. Call it a bias, a difference in officiating, whatever you'd like.

Both teams had parents complaining. I get it, parents will be parents but you have to accept that the officials aren't out there to play favorites and should be appreciated for their efforts. 22 players on the field make it hard for 5 guys to keep track of, not to mention the other 100 or so players on the sidelines and couple dozen coaches.

When on the road, I never expect to get favorable calls especially when outside of Louisville.

This game was called pretty much right down the middle. Did the officials miss calls? Of course but you have to remember that there are just a few to the 22 players on the field.
