  1. The problem with the championships is that region 4 is LOADED with a capital L. The alignment causes all the top teams to battle to come out of one region. The best 7th grade teams I saw this year were Northern, Corbin, Meece, Whitley, and I would probably count Johnson and Knox. I would put a lot on the line that the BG's, CAL's, Crosby's wouldn't come within 2-3 scores of those teams.

I'm not taking anything away from CAL. They're a good team. We had our worst officiated games at home this year believe it or not, so I'm used to all that fun stuff. Good calls or bad calls, the kids have to be taught to keep their composure and from what I heard about that situation with BG, they didn't.

  2. Nobody said it is an indicator of anything. The implication is that a KYMFSA title is no different than a Salt River Conference title no matter how hard you try to spin it. Neither title is a KHSAA sanctioned state title and those are the ones that matter the most.

I disagree with you here. The KHSAA is working with and implementing rules into the KYMSFA. I may be totally wrong, but I see that bond getting tighter with time. There is a very big difference in the KYMSFA state tournament and the Salt River tournament. Competition is much stiffer. The best of the best. I'm not knocking Boyle, they're a very good football team. With that said, I would say at least 10 teams in the KYMSFA tournament could go undefeated with their schedule.

  3. I think you have a good argument that Pulaski should have been ranked above Bowling Green to start the season. Once Pulaski lost by more than 3 TD's to Scott County, they should have dropped below BG. Now, with both teams having a lopsided loss, you have to look at other games. That is where I believe the Owensboro win pushes BG over Pulaski County. Looking at the schedules, if BG keeps winning they are going to stay ahead of Pulaski. Pulaski doesn't have any top shelf opponent left to play that would give them a signature win and push them past BG.

You should just admit that you didn't see the Scott County / Pulaski game. That was a 1 score game late in the 4th. To add to that, BG's remaining schedule is no better than Pulaski's.

  4. The Bowling Green / Owensboro game will be telling for this class. I expect BG to win, but wouldn't be surprised with an Owensboro upset. Rankings could shake up in the top 3 this week. Pulaski has it's 2nd "Open" week this week. JV will play 2nd half. I don't see Pulaski moving out of the 2 spot regardless. Although I think PC should be #1 at the moment, BG will remain with a win and Owensboro will jump with a win.

  5. Kyle England and Huddleston I'd say by far are two top players. Interesting though is they are both big strong physical freaks. But, they play very different. If Kyle had Brycen's motor he'd be the most dominant player we've seen in years. If he would lower his should and run over people I honestly would be scared for the other players. Brycen is just a coaches dream. Not only is he as athletic as anyone he is fearless and strong as an ox. He's not afraid to lower his shoulder and could easily hurt someone. The two did meet head to head last year. I made it a point to go and watch. I know Kyle has a YouTube video of last years highlights.

    Who's the next big QB?

I'm an outsider to the NKY folks. Who does Huddleston play for?
