  1. Let's bring all the hardware out west. Hush some of that Eastern bias in the process.

    1A - Mayfield - very good team

2A - Murray - just because you won't let me list CALDWELL GO TIGERS

3A - Paducah Tilghman - giving some love to Paducah

4A - Owensboro - know nothing about them

    5A - Bowling Green - Continued domination

6A - McCracken County - first year program would be an awesome story

  2. Although Caldwell started slow against Union the first time, in Marion, they didn't play all that bad the rest of the way. Yes, there were some careless mistakes made against a team that Caldwell felt pretty comfortable beating. Most teams will find that running the ball against Caldwell is not a very good idea. I think most would agree that the defensive secondary for Caldwell is their weak spot, if there is one.

Union has improved over the year, but I think Caldwell wins easily in this one. The score will not be as high as most think due to the running clock, and Caldwell's conservatism with a lead that dominates the latter stages of every game. I say Caldwell wins 52-14.

  3. NCC has a definite advantage over the best three teams in the state. In order to get to the state finals THIS YEAR, they will not have to beat any of those three. Caldwell would have the next best avenue to the state finals, only having to win over either DeSales or CAL to get there. CAL would have to beat DeSales and Caldwell to get to a title game. DeSales has the toughest road to hoe I believe. It would take wins over Glasgow, CAL, and Caldwell to get there. All of that depending on the favorites to win out.

  4. You can't hardly blame the scheduling on the coaches though. Christian County is normally a much better team, and was expected to be that this year. Usually much better than Graves Co. Ft Campbell and Trigg would also fall into the category of having "down" years. Yes, you have played McCracken County in their SECOND game ever. I am sure you don't want to see them now. They have greatly improved over the year. Tilghman is not on Caldwell's schedule, but would be a good matchup this year or next. As they were for Mayfield. I would definitely agree that the coaching staff at Mayfield gives them a distinct advantage. I do think the talent level you paotray in Mayfield is a little overrated.

  5. Mayfield's kicker is above average I agree. But, I think Seymore is better than that. I too was sure of a Mayfield win against Russellville. Just not enough talent to get over on Mayfield. But, I don't know about being Caldwell not being undefeated with Mayfield's schedule. Other than Tilghman and McCracken County, the schedules are pretty similar. Both teams took care of Ft. Campbell. The Murray game seems to be the one in question. I believe Murray gave Mayfield all they wanted with Mayfield having a slow start. Murray was beaten pretty handily by Caldwell (42-13) and never really posted a threat other than being close really early. As far as Mayfield goes, I think everyone would agree they are glad to have played McCracken in only their second game ever. Don't think either Caldwell or Mayfield would want much of them this time of year. Tilghman and Calwell would have also been a good game, and i think that Caldwell would come out with a slight victory there. Comparitively these two teams are very close. Be a good one to see. I just think Caldwell has the edge. We shall soon find out. Good luck.

  6. Mayfield is good. No doubt about it. Maybe the best Caldwell has seen all year. No, not maybe IS. Yes, Mayfield has been a powerhouse for the last several years, and comfortable with the big games. This is Mayfield's biggest advantage. Caldwell's advantage is they are hungry. They want this like no other. Yes, it is about getting respect. QB advantage goes to Caldwell. No doubt. Yes Mayfield has played some better opponents, but Sindelar has mad decent teams look like the bad news bears. Guyh has not. The RB situation is a push imo. Mayfield has a strong backfield, but so does Caldwell. WR advantage Caldwell. Just too many weapons there. Offensive line push. Both teams seem to be able to control the line very well. Both give good space for RB and time for their respective QBs. Kicking game slight advantage to Caldwell. Two reasons: one punting - Sindelar's ability to get off good kicks and ability to turn a 4th down into a first down are obvious advantages. I have not seen Mayfileds kicker do much, but he seems pretty solid. Seymore is very good with a super leg. He gets a slight advantage. Defensively is a push. Both seem pretty good against the run and soft in the secondary. Home field advantage will work to the Tigers side. Huge crowd expected Friday. Penalties will be an issue to watch for. Caldwell can not afford to let the refs take them out of this game. It should play to be one heck of a game. Caldwell 56 - Mafield 52.

  7. LOL. 69 or 77 points. Does not matter. Still a lot of points. As long as the second or third string is in once the running clock starts, it should not matter. If the third string can rack up another 30+ points, then so be it. If there are starters on the field, I have a totally different perspective. There is no way that anyone should tell a coach not to develop his younger players. Soon they will be the starters and need to play within the scheme that is coached. Otherwise, when the third string becomes the starters, they have no experience in running the offense (other than practice). Seems to be a great way to develop the future of a program to me.

  8. It is a sad day in Kentucky when the KHSAA feels the need to even make such a remark. They had to know there would be backlash from such a statement. The fact is they were trying to wash their hands clean of the aftermath in the handshake line, and to an epic failure. Wouldn't the KHSAA been much better served to have simply put their foot down and passed out penalties to players and coaches for the unnecessary actions that sometimes take place in the handshake line (suspensions, etc.). Instead, again, the wording whether intentional or misconstrued, makes for the ridicule this state's programs take based on the incompetence of its advising board. Although the handshake line has not always been a part of sports,(much like the kneeling of players when an injured player is being treated on the field) there is a place for it in today's sporting events.
