I agree that until the Tigers can prove they can win convincingly over a quality opponent they will remain second. Giving up 37 per game WILL NOT get it later in the season. Defense MUST improve. However, I would love to see a Caldwell De Sales matchup in the playoffs.

Caldwell is right where they belong. Until they prove they can win a big game 2nd is as good as it gets barring a DeSales FLOP.

Doesn't matter the weather. You DO NOT change a game plan that you have based on weather conditions. Hard to go to a run only offense when you bread and butter is in the passing game. Players will make plays no matter the weather.

The thing is being a good or great X and O coach has more factors to it than simple drawing up a play. If you need a play to get an open look with the clock winding down give me Tubby Smith. If you want a guy to draw up a game plan to play a certain opponent for one night give me Tom Izzo. Or how about a guy to set forth a team in motion to compete in EVERY game they play all season give me Rick Pitino or Coach K. Want a guy that can turn a bunch of rookies into contenders in a short time CAL. This all is dependent of several factors. Each coach has to implement his system in order to be successful at this level. If the question is take five guys who you know nothing about and win with them then the answer is no one.

I do not remember 5 technicals. I must have missed something. I remember each bench getting one, a UHA player for slamming his hand on the floor, and another UHA player getting one for a chest bump on a Caldwell player. I must be forgetting one.

Kentucky wins a close one here. Hickey will play big again. The Tigers are going to be in the NCAA tournament. They are a good solid team. Watch out for them in March.

Go to look at Hoptown's schedule and look at the quality wins they have and then come back and try again. Hoptown is better than you think and obviously want to give credit to. Not often a team that made the Final Four the previous year and returns quality players but still can't get respect.

 

Current #3 team in the state. Still undefeated against Ky opponents.

 

Keep doubting though. I'm sure they'd love to be under the radar and the perceived underdog.

Worst called game I have ever seen. The refs were totally lost during the whole game. Seemed to be a little lopsided. Tight game at the half, but UHA come out the third quarter and opened it up. Made a heck of a run to start the second half. Caldwell never recovered. When you get outshot at the charity stripe like that, there is no excuse. Tiny gym, but very loud.

The NKY bias on here is unreal. Hopefully this current membership drive will equal some of that out. If the NKY folks could see outside their little world they too would understand how good Hop town is. They will get their chance. All those folks can say is how good their region is. Only one problem with that. You only get to advance ONE seems to me that is an advantage for everyone else. Hard to get to the sweet 16 being the second best team in your own region. Lol.

Being a Caldwell fan and a fan of Sindelar, I pains me to see that he will probably be on the outside looking in at the 2014 KY Mr Football. Harris is a stud, and will deservedly get all the hype. There are a few downsides for Elijah. His team needs to make a state championship game appearance in 2014. Will be tough to do with losing so many of the O-line. Sindelar is one hell of a QB, but Mr Football will require a lot of press and attention. Going out early in the playoffs or having a bad season would kill his chances. IMO

It will be a battle between Elijah and Damien Harris.

EASY there Rambo. Great to be a fan and all, but time for a reality check. Not quite the best player in the region I do not think. i believe many others would also disagree with you. Fine player no doubt, but best in the region is a stretch at best.

The region was down, except Caldwell, they had a bad game, OC was way down and will probably start making their up and up this year like they did from 2009 from 3-8 to 2010 13-2. Murray, if you have ever seen them, have a ton of athletes every year. They were not down the last two years. Just saying Boone was their leader on both sides of the football and is a coaches son. Best player on their team and the region.

 

All but 3 years since 2000. A team from Region 1 was always in the title game.

Haven't seen UHA play. Caldwell has plenty of talented players. Sindelar, Pepper, McCarty, just to name a few. Just do not play as a team. Too much individual play. Poor at the stripe too. Just haven't played together enough. Will get better as season goes on.

Okay, here goes my ONE rant on this whole thing. Phil Robertson has every right to voice his views on homosexuality. Just as any homosexual has the right to disagree. The freedom of speech goes both directions. Its just that Phil has a pretty big platform to speak from. A & E made a huge mistake on this one. Not real smart to alienate your breadwinner. On to Jesse Jackson. What an utter joke in our society. Keeps wanting to dredge out wrongs committed before his time. Yes, blacks were mistreated by SOME whites early in American history. I had no part of that, and neither did anyone I know personally. The fact is that there is a black president today, and I don't know of a more prestigious position in this country. It is time to move on. It can be done, but it takes hard work and commitment, not crying and boo-hooing. Yes, I am an European American.
