  1. Holy Cross will continue their losing ways if that coach doesn't open his eyes. He has the players to be competitive and win. He just doesn't see the light. This might be harsh, but it needs to be said; number 5 is not the best player on your team! He is your son and you cannot see that! He plays more minutes than anyone. He wouldn't even start on most teams. To quote one of your own , " this is a trainwreck" and Coach you are at the controls. Players who have played against you and coaches who have coached against you, 90% agree with what I'm saying just no one wants to say it. I don't have a dog in your race, so I don't mind saying it. Wake up coach, you have the team, now use the right players.

    WOW...... :thumb:

  2. Good post BBallFan. I agree 100%. S. Oldham is a very good team that could easily get back to Rupp Arena. Holy Cross could have folded twice and got embarrassed but they didn't.

Coming back against their 2nd team "comment" is very inaccurate. S. Oldham only subbed 2 guys most of the night so how did HC make their comeback twice against 2nd string? Griffin, Young and Franklin were on court 95% of the game. Do changes need to be made with lineup and/or rotations probably....but don't fault the kids that were in the rotation that battled back twice against a really good team.

Lamontab I'll talk to you more offline if you want.

Believe me I do not fault the players for at all, I feel bad for them most part. They will only do well if they are put into position to successful.

  3. They lost to a good team tonight, but they showed a lot of guts coming back after being down by a wide margin twice. They're taking some early season lumps in finding themselves, but all in all it sounds like they're coming around. They have a big test again with Scott tomorrow night and could very well lose that one too, but even with this 0-5 start I believe they are a legitimate top 10 team in the 9th and by season's end could arguably be anywhere from 6-10.

You can't win if you can't play defense. Our come back was against their 2nd team once they put the starters back in the lead increased.

  4. This Friday it should be the Breds vs the ADS the ref's blew the call at the end of the game, it was a fumble recovered by Freppon, knee or knee's where not on the ground it was a TD absolutely a horrible call but it is what it is the Bred's had opportunities but didn't capitalize. Go Danville!!!!!

The ball carrier was down, the defender was down and the ref blew the whistle.

Let it go... HC beat NCC on the field.

  5. @lamontab is not taking a shot at the Danville players using that term, you don't see two 6'2" 240 lb. running backs in the same backfield in high school very often, that's why I used the phrase "they are grown men playing against boys". Also, if they break containment ain't NOBODY going to catch them, crazy speed for big guys.

I am seriously thinking of making the trip on Friday, depends when I get off work. Really want to see this game, and hang with @Wireman & @ADopted ADmiral once again.

I also think this is the BEST team Holy Cross has played, the Ad's are a VERY talented group.

Listen, I hate it as much as any NewCath fan that the Breds lost, but enough already with the Ref's blowing the call. Breds had opportunities to make that play a moot point, but failed to capitalize. I'm happy for Holy Cross to get the opportunity to play for the chance at the Finals.

Man I've had the worst time conveying that HC has really big backs. Thanks Lawnboy

  6. I'm a Boyle county fan so I really don't have a dog in this fight but you're the only fan of either team that's guaranteeing an absolute victory and I'm sure Holy Cross is good or they wouldn't be playing Friday night but to guarantee a victory over Danville is really going out on a limb In my opinion.

I don't remember guaranteeing a victory of any kind. I do guarantee I'll be there routing for my guys.

  7. Lamontab, if you read your posts on this thread, and for that matter the entire year, you will understand the rhetoric to which I am referring to. If you don't see where your comments are considered "bulletin board material", then I cannot help you. Also, let me get you straight, I never once said anything on this site about HC's talent. Please provide proof to your claim. Lastly, regarding the competition for HC this year. They have 3 good teams that were on their regular season schedule.....and lost to all 3. They played better than NCC in the playoff game and I am happy for the Indians. Danville has played the tougher schedule, imo, and deserves to be here. NCC put the banner on HC locker room and the HC kids played even harder this past week. Please don't give Danville a banner to put up this week.....I want to see HC win

Lets agree that I will advocate for my team and you can do and say whatever you want.

  8. ...500lbs of GROWN MEN running down hill at little kids.

I'm sure those "little kids" appreciate those comments.

I will say this again that statement is a reference to the size or our rb's and nothing else.

In high school football how often does a player have to tackle a 240lbs+ RB? Now think about the challenge of having to play against 2 big backs at the same time.

I'm sorry you don't get to hangout with Lawnboy, but like he said "Barnes and Abernathy.......they are grown men playing against boys."

  9. I cheer for all NKY teams this time of year. Lamontab is proud of his kids and rightfully so, but it might be best to keep your rhetoric to yourself. You are giving the other team bulletin board material and it is unnecessary. Danville has played better teams and NCC is the only team HC has beaten this year that could be playing this time of year. I wish HC the best, but let's leave it to the coaches and the kids to settle this one instead of inflaming your opponent and giving them extra motivation

Let me get this straight you have doubted HC's talent and competition all year and now that HC is in the semi's you want me to toned down my rhetoric? What rhetoric are you referring to?

I believe the HC is a talented team that can run the ball and play D, which is what I've been saying all year.

  10. Pointing out individuals or being unfairly harsh should not be tolerated...

At the same time this thread also makes me think that constructive criticism and debate are dying qualities.

This sure would be a boring place if we just sat around congratulating other teams and calling everyone "second best" if they didn't win a Title. There is no issue in debating teams that lose or second guessing, as long as people do it with respect and keep the blame off the individual kids I think that it is a necessary aspect of what makes this message board great.

Then again when we have two weeks of protests over a landslide victory in an election I guess maybe this culture just doesn't want to accept that sometimes people don't win.

Well Said & Thank You for your candor.
