I don't mean to sound callous but that is exactly right.

You know I'm not a mask guy, id rather build and keep my immune system strong. Just recently the numbers in my area spiked, yet masks have been being worn for how many months now? Makes one wonder if the numbers are going up due to weakening immune systems from wearing masks religiously. I personally know someone that developed pneumonia and the doctor told her it was likely from constantly wearing the mask and not changing it often enough.

I will say that I was surprised of lack of masks being worn in certain places during a trip to Cincinnati this weekend though. From a lot of what I've read on here and given the Norrthern Kentucky base that are members of this forum I expected to see masks everywhere. Jungle Jim's was the only place we visited that I would say over 90% of people were wearing masks. I won't name the others because I don't want them to get in trouble if they're supposed to be enforcing it, but one of them I'd say less than 20% of people were wearing masks unless in crowded areas.

I knew the Spring Valley game was unlikely, but is the finale against Boyd County in jeopardy too?

Yeah, its not gonna happen. I believe the plan is to try and work something out for this coming Saturday with Pikeville, then West Carter the week after. Hopefully it plays out and would give each of those teams a good game prior to the playoffs.

Ashland's resume is as good or better than anyone else's in 3A. Travelling a few hours from home on short notice and winning by 35 on Log Mountain is something a #1 team would do.

Unfortunately they may not get to play another regular season game unless they can work something out with Pikeville and West Carter.

They were really fortunate to be able to work something out with Bell County on such short notice for both schools. They only traveled with 40 players (about half of the team) due to nit being able to secure enough busses on such short notice.

As for the game itself I haven't had a chance to watch the film yet but it seems like Bell County moved the ball fairly well but Ashland's defense stepped up on third down plays and forced some turnovers. They also kept Pittman in check for the first two and a half quarters, but Ashland has enough team speed and other threats to break long runs to just key in on one player and walk away with a win.

How does this effect the private schools and their ability to play?

Right. Everyone seems to be playing a guessing game with this virus but still feel its just gonna dissappear one day. I just dont see that happening. So no more school, no more sports, no more normal anything until people buck up and realize its never gonna just go away and a vaccine at best may be 50% reliable.

I don’t agree that Ashland’s  schedule was “weak” last season. Of course they played some teams in their region not all that strong but playing Warren Central, Butler, Trinity, Clark Co, Johnson Central, Mason Co and 3 very talented teams from West Virginia does not equate a weak schedule. All teams have several weaker teams on their schedule. You can’t play top 20 teams every night.

This season they have Male and Covington Catholic early in their schedule. Those will definitely be difficult games for them and should give an idea to where they should rank. I believe they’re also in the Marshall County Hoopfest.

They are in the Hoopfest. Coach Mays has done what he can to give them a quality schedule outside of regional play. For what its worth I don't feel like they dodged the KOB, it just didn't make sense to commit to it when they were invited, from what I've been told. Coach Mays isn't one to dodge teams, but playing anyone anywhere, anytime,  doesn't always work out as far as scheduling goes, especially during covid and out of state teams not knowing if they can even make the trip.

They basically played a middle school schedule last year. Undefeated is a huge accomplishment, but I think ETown was primed to end that streak. They do play Male early this season. Even with the players Male lost, that should still be a huge test for Ashland. I could be completely wrong, but I’m pretty sure they had an opportunity to play in the KOB this season, but declined. If you want to be considered the best, you have to be willing to play anyone anytime.

I wasn't completely sold on Ashland last season either, in terms of a state championship goes. But they were a very, very good team, I just felt like the lack of having a big man would eventually be their downfall. But we never had the chance to find out.

The 16th region itself causes them to have a watered down schedule but they did upgrade it considerably this season. I remember some discussion of them being in the KOB tournament and their reasoning for declining at the time was due to no guarantee of it being played due to some out of state teams potentially backing out due to covid travel issues that were still unknown at the time.

Sept. 11th @ Home Vs. Coal Grove 7:00 pm

    Sept. 18th @ Rock Hill 7:00 pm

Looks like Ashland is in fact looking for at Least 1 game if Kentucky does have Football.

There won't be any football, Imo.

From what I saw this weekend.  That 25% is being stretched in most places.  Lots of mostly full parking lots in some establishments.

Thats likely because its not a law, just a recommendation. Some businesses will violate said recommendation to stay in business. Its hard times for small businesses due to these recommendations. If wearing a mask really works why do they need to lower capacity if their customers are wearing masks? Makes no sense to me.

Ahh nevermind, I forgot that you only need to wear a mask in a restaurant when you're not seated. Again though, that makes no sense either.

No one, I repeat no one, can hold a candle to you when it comes to excuses, denial, ignoring what you don't like, etc. Everything in that post is an exercise in denial because you don't want some obvious facts to be real. I know, I know...what are the facts, blah, blah, blah.

Throw away every false positive, non COVID death, etc and the US is still the worst in the world.

How do you know that? You must be a lot better than I when it comes to predicting actual numbers. If you can give me accurate numbers on this virus from all different methods countries around the world use to report it then you should also play the lottery, you may win big.

It isn't even close JD. No one is within 2 million cases and only one country (Brazil) is within 50% of the death totals of the US. The US has 3 times the deaths of the #3 country in the world. When the numbers gap is that wide, the excuses all fall to the wayside. Face it. The US is the worst in the world at managing this virus and it isn't close.

But again how do you know? Our numbers should be near the top just due to the sheer number of people, as well as how much Americans travel within the country as well as outside of it. Throw in a bunch of false positives as well as duplicate positives due to infected people being tested daily at times, yet it still counts as a new positive case until they test negative, most countries aren't testing and reporting numbers that way. Don't get me started on deaths and what the people in Illinois said was being included in that instance.

OK, I will clarify/qualify that for you. Every other country in the world has contained the virus better than the US, although Brazil is making a run at us. We need to keep those bars open to hold onto #1.

What if everyone's numbers are wrong? The simple answer is no countries numbers are correct with this and they all accumulate deaths and positive cases differently, so its hard to compare it that way.

Tony is very clear about this, we should be wearing goggles according to him.

That is how it works, brow-beat everyone into wearing masks and then tell them it is time to start wearing goggles.

I am being serious here, I wonder what is next...

    Scuba suits.
