  1. You can wait to see what BC23 says or you can accept that you got the scoop from another source first. Just don't be surprised if you see two of the Magic's former players on another team this weekend.....
  2. It would be amazing if they won by 10 considering they lost their two best players. One of them was their leading scorers. But hey, what do I know; I have only seen both teams play before and been involved in AAU as a coach and scout for 7-8 years. LOL!
  3. Schedules are up.... Louisville Magic vs. Team Manimal the first night at 9:30 on the main court. That's a Championship game in Pool Play! I can't wait! http://www.playkba.com/asapages/schedules.aspx
  4. It is funny that you would say that Manimal would lose to Meanstreets by 30 if they played them. They actually did play them earlier this season and only lost by 2. All this while Manimal was playing without 3 of their better players. At the same tournament they beat Mac Irvin Fire, another EYBL team out of Chicago, convincingly. So Your hypothetical situation that actually happened is invalid. At the end of the day, I just want to see all these teams play each other, and I wish them all the best of luck.
  5. The Magic were not even in the top 2 in their pool, so for your statement to be remotely correct, both teams they lost to in their pool should have made it to the Championship since you think they were in a "STACKED" pool.... However neither team they lost to even made it past the first round of 32 teams during Tournament play in the gold bracket??? Doesn't sound too "STACKED" to me.... Both teams Team Manimal played and either beat or lost to by 2 made it to the Sweet 16 and the elite 8 of the Gold Bracket. Fact's are facts and one fact is true. The Magic 15's are really not that great. Most players on their team are 1-2 years older than kids on other teams around the state. When they were all younger, these boys had a competitive advantage, but all of those kids have caught and surpassed these boys now. Sorry to say but it is true.
  6. I am pretty sure they are competing.... And they do control the bracket they are in. It is based off wins and losses during Pool Play. Louisville Magic had too many losses during pool play to make it into the Gold Bracket, therefore mitigating them to the Silver Bracket. I think they lost 2 out of 3 games during pool play.
  7. Trust me there is more than enough talent in the 15's to give theme some comp.... I think everyone is going to be very surprised when they get to State if teams don't run away from a little comp in their own age group.
  8. The GA Stars team that both teams played were somewhat different..... From my understanding, the coach of the GA Stars admitted that he loaded the team at the Knoxvegas with some of his 16U players because they weren't checking birth certificates and it wasn's a Live event.
  9. Yeah, the "Silver Division Champions"..... While two of the Teams that Team Manimal has beaten this season and one that they lost to by 2 were playing in the Gold Bracket of that same Tournament....
  10. I am talking about the 15s.... And who have they beaten that makes you think this will be the battle in that age group??? No one! If you said the KY Heat or Team Manimal, I would understand, but what are you basing your info about the Louisville Magic 15's on???
  11. The Magic have a lot to prove at AAU State... They have lost to some teams this season that are not very good.
  12. Not too many teams will be able to compete on the level of the Travelers each year because they will get the best players year in and year out, period... How many of you have actually been to see a game on the Nike EYBL circuit or to Nike Peach Jam??? This guy has (me) has more than once, and any kid who chose to play with an Under Armour, Adidas, Converse, or any other team when they have the opportunity to play for an EYBL team would be insane!!! I don't even know why we continue to talk about the "Magic Program" as if they have established a dynasty when they have "ONE" really good team and several other average teams???? I would love to see how long this program keeps their "Under Armour Sponsorship" after their 2014 class graduates? From my vast experience with the circuit, I have learned that those sponsorships can go away as fast as they came when a program is not producing multiple D1 prospects each year. And while we are on the topic of sponsorships; aren't Hoop Dreams and Team Manimal sponsored by Adidas. Adidas is much more dominant on the AAU circuit than Under Armour in terms of the amount of successful teams (ie... Indiana Elite, Eric Gordon All Stars, Ohio Basketball Club, Dallas Mustangs, Atlanta Celtics, Florida Elite, and many more). So why would the Magic be considered above Adidas or on the same level of Nike?
  13. Travelers should compete in the AAU State Tourny???? Why? Do any of you actually know the purpose of the AAU State tournament? I'm guessing no judging by the direction this topic has taken. The AAU state tournament is a requirement in every state for those teams who have or would like to qualify for AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) Nationals... Seeing as how the Tennessee Travelers do not compete on the AAU circuit and cannot/will not compete in AAU Nationals, it would make absolutely no sense for them to compete in the Amateur Athletic Union's State Tournament.... Because of Kentucky's relative unfamiliarity with how AAU actually works, most don't realize this and use the term AAU when discussing all travel basketball teams, and confuse the AAU state tournament as being a tournament for all the teams in Kentucky to compete in. This is not the case.... In most States, the majority of teams in those States DO NOT compete in their AAU State Tournaments; especially if they have already qualified for AAU Nationals at an AAU Super Regional. Regarding the Travelers and Magic programs, both are currently strong programs, but I don't see the Magic lasting much longer as an elite program in the State. They received the Under Armour sponsorship because of the talent in their 17U team, but they don't have anywhere near the same amount of talent in their younger age groups. And with the emergence of other strong programs like Derby State Thoroughbreds, Team Manimal, TBC, NKY Bulldogs, Hoop Dreams, and others; they are not getting all the best talent in the upcoming classes. At the end of the day who cares which team is best, I am just excited about the direction AAU (Travel) Basketball is headed in the State..... No matter how hard KHSAA tries, AAU is finally taking off in the State and I am loving it!!!
