  1. wa wa,

give use three guys that you "think" will get it. I agree they will hire someone not currently coaching in NKY but someone that was either a former HC in NKY or someone who has ties to NKY.

I have no idea and wont pretend to. I think Ryle could get anybody they wanted. I just feel it won't be someone in this area. That whole area, the school, housing development, businesses, best facilities will certainly draw some big time people. I hope Ryle realizes this and actually thinks BIG. I think this position has the potential to be one of the top in the area, including Cincinnati. Maybe someone from Cincinnati or Northern Ohio.

    Will be fun to see.

  2. You ever notice how these schools that get accused of having parents who are always bashing the coaches (ie WV, Highlands, Beechwood) are also the schools that are ranked the highest academically as well. Perhaps the parents there are just unwilling to settle for mediocrity whether it is in the classroom or on the playing fields. Maybe they just have pride in their schools and have high expectations for themselves, their kids, their coaches, teachers, and schools. I'm not sure it is a bad thing to strive to be the best in everything you do. Maybe if parents at other schools cared more it would be reflected in their test scores as well as their teams performance.

Are you serious!!!!! You are putting Walton in the same category as Highlands and Beechwood. OMG you can not be serious. Walton and their fans would love to be in the same breath as those two schools. Never will be. This has to be the funniest things ever written on BGP. You were kidding right? The only time Walton gets anything written here is not on any accomplishments but at the end of every sporting season the parents and fans complain about their coaches or referees etc. Oh wait, they did donate a mat to the state wrestling matches.

By the way, Where is Walton Verona?

  3. Ryle is a huge school, top notch facilities, plenty of money in its area. These are all very attractive to all coaches, not just from tiny Northern Ky but far reaching areas.

Ryles next coach will not come from this area but far away. None of the asst coaches around here will get it, they will land someone that none of the experts on here are aware of.

Sit tight. An experienced, successful coach will be taking over soon.

  4. So just to recap the candidates:

Jim Hicks - HC at Grant County

Eric Goetz - former HC at Holy Cross

Dan Trame - former HC at Walton Verona

Brandon Grammer - HC at Seneca

Ryan Bowman - JV coach at Conner

Blevins - JV coach at Cooper

You're the committee, what 3 do you bring in for interview?

None of these individuals will be coaching Ryle next year.

  5. Please tell me his bogus time as a reporter for hoopsreport.com counts as relavent experience! I can list myself as a scout and make a blog, that does not make me more qualified to be a head coach at a 6A school. Blevins and Bowman should get jobs at a school like Lloyd, prove themselves and then get these jobs. Cooper and Boone will continue to be at the top of the 33rd because of their draw in the school district. If Blevins comes in and has 3 losing seasons in a row, his career is finished and so is Demlers.

    You go red hawk!

  6. Not in high school. Not even close.

I saw more potential in Mr Knowles and so Did Mr Pitino. Louisville had a scholarship available. UK has no scholarships available plus Wacko Calipari would never pick Mr Hawkins. Calipari is such a manipulator of UK fan base, he knows what they want to hear and leaks things out, like they are remotely interested. Don't fall for Caliparis games. I admire everyone who thinks Mr Hawkins actually has a chance. Let it go. Let the poor kid go to Murray Stae or wherever. Quit putting pressure on him.

  7. Spoke to a couple of folks last night that are close to the Walton program.

For being such a terrible place and not having any kids in the pipline they have a ton of interest in this job.

Several head coach's in state and out of state have applied from what I was told.

One4One, WA WA, 123GO ..... as the famous saying from SI Robertson goes......" YOU GUYS ARE ......!!!!!!":thumb:

You can call me Robin Hood of BGP aka as wa wa. I am happy for you. Drum roll please, And the next coach of the Walton Verona bball team is?????????????????

Wait, did I hear none of the applicants are qualified after the parental board members reviewed all 50 of them. The saga continues.

  8. I sat by one college coach in the media room at the state tournament and he said "Bolden is a nice player. Dribbles way too much." And he will change his game I'm sure to grow as a player and with a different cast, he'll likely be able to "dribble less". He also said about Hawkins that he has "college ready body and all the skills you need to succeed at the next level". His school has already offered Hawkins by the way. So the notion that he's not a division 1 player simply shows the hand some are dealt.

Was that coach Billy Gillespie? Wouldnt be a good idea for one of these coaches from a lower Div 1 or Div 2 or NAIA schools to say anything derogatory about his recruit. Makes sense for him to make a few stupid remarks about a player he has no chance at getting. There were no top Div 1 schools at Ky sweet 16 except Calipari who was there for Mr Bolden. Thats when good players are recruited, at an early age, not the end of their senior years.

  9. I've got news for you pal...Kentucky watched Hawkins 5 times and invited him to 2 practices. That doesn't happen unless they have some serious interest. Dominique has at least 6 DI offers at this point, and they aren't for football.

Ky always looks for scout team players who the ones that actually get scholarships and actually play beat on. No scholarships to be given and all you fans of his can go and act like he actually is on the team.

  10. Bolden is a good player, a little out of control, but he still has time to learn. He's probably a nice kid, but based on his fan base on this site I'm having a hard time liking him. If you really like him, you would be doing him a huge favor to back off and quit turning everyone against him like you have done me.:puke:

His play speaks for itself. Thanks for allowing me to control you. Gotcha! One of the tribe - Wa Wa Wa Wa Wa

  11. Every good team needs a point guard that turns the ball over 8 times in a sweet 16 game. Bolden has the talent to be great but he does have a tendancy to over dribble and try to create too much out of nothing; hence, the turnovers. Dominique operated within the offense the whole tournament until Coach Feldhaus cut the reins and let him drive-kick or drive-shoot. Thats why UK is interest cause they run a dribble drive offense that requires a PG to get to the basket and make a smart decision with the ball... not turn it over.

NOT A CHANCE will Hawkins even get a small chance of being on a UK bball scholarship. UK already will be facing some tough choices with recruits coming in next year and whats left over from this year. What is Mr Hawkins rating on the top recruiting sites??? Unless he wants to be walk-on and let everyone beat on him for four years. If UK was truly interested in a short stocky football player who likes to play basketball then they would have recruited him long before he was a senior. It is exciting to see everyone from his hometown get all pumped up thinking he has a legit shot on making UK roster. Bolden as a sophomore is 100 times better than Hawkins was as a sophomore. After Bolden graduates lets see where he plays as to where Hawkins might get a scholarship to!!! (Thomas More, NKU, Eastern KY (maybe). Morehead State, Murray State. He is a 6 foot tall football player. Poor guy listens to this thread from all the locals and he gets all fired up because you guys think he is good enough to play at KY. Give the guy a break, hate to see his bubble burst.

  12. Okay. I still don't understand why UK can't be interested in both. They obviously are. It'll be good for Bolden to have Hawkins there to mentor him when he arrives in 2 years.

Maybe Hawkins still has film of Bolden and how well Div 1 guards make shots for themselves. He needs to go play football at like Eastern KY or some NAIA school. He will never be in a UK basketball uniform. UK isnt and wont be interested in Hawkins for Bball. Bolden will have his pick of pretty much any major Div 1 school. If UK was interested like you think they would offer him a scholarship which they have not and wont. But thats ok. Thomas More College could use a guard next year, thats where he will fit in. Thomas More is an awesome school.

  13. Why would the Moeves boys leave now that Trame is gone? You can't blame Trame, oh excuse me, you are. Why would Clinkenbeard leave the girls job after only two years and go to the boys side? I know his daughter graduates which makes sense why he might want out of the girls position. I can think of only two other reasons why he would want the boys.

123 Oh No, not another parent complaining about Coach Trame. Talent, are you kidding me? Coach Trame is way over qualified to be at Walton Verona.

  14. If you consider being able to post on BGP as "fame" then you really need to get out more.

Hang in there buddy. Baseball season will start soon and then you can poke fun of your coach after that season.

Get over it. Zero talent out there. Get out more??? Like packing up the minivan and head out to the new Krogers in Walton or maybe pick up a part or two at the Walton Auto Salvage. Not one single sport is worth talking about. Oh wait, Walton did have a nice looking mat at the state wrestling meet they let them use. Support your kids, support your coaches and try and have fun. Cant wait till after baseball to see who you take shots at.

Again, support your kids playing the sports they are in and less time griping about coaches etc.
