The Cards end up holding and force a punt, but, will start at there own 5

McCracken on the move again.. 1st and 10 at the Card 30 yard line, still 6 minutes to go in 2nd quarter..
-
After the early onslaught by the Cards, the Mustangs have settled down and are playing much better here in the 2nd quarter, with a couple of good drives, one resulting in a touchdown and 2 defensive stops.. If the Stangs score on this drive, it could turn into a dogfight..

If E'town can't hang with CAL, then I'm guessing they can't hang with Central, Belfry, and Corbin at the top of Class 3A. This will be a very interesting game on numerous fronts.
Not sure Central, Belfry and Corbin would do much against this CAL team either.. There D is legit.. E'Town probably has the most explosive offense that CAL will see, so, the question is, can the E'Town O make enough big plays to keep them close all 4 quarters.. CAL has some offensive weapons, as well, but, they are a more ball control, field position team that wears you out by the 4th quarter.. If the Panthers can muster a couple of early scores and get a lead, they have a shot.. If CAL gets ahead or keeps it fairly even then I think they pull away in the 4th quarter..I think it'll be a 21-14 type game and I'd give CAL the edge..
-
I think any of the Top 4 could make a strong case to be #1.. The Alcoa win probably pushes Corbin to the top, but, the Fern Creek win by Central is also a very solid win. Belfry, who, until someone else in 3a knocks off, can still make a strong case and Elizabethtown is putting up huge numbers against better competition then they've played the past couple of years.. I don't think Lex Cath or Boyle could legitimately make a case for #1, but, both are certainly capable of beating any of the Top 4 on any given day..
-
I expect Beechwood to hang in there for a half, maybe even 3 quarters, but, then Corbins size and depth takes control of the game. I think a 31-14 final with the Hounds scoring a couple of 4th quarter TDs to pull away..
