  1. Okay so with Cal officially gone, where does Mitch Barnhard turn too/offer and try to get?

    Dan Hurley (UCONN)

    Billy Donovan (NBA - Bulls)

Scott Drew (Baylor) - - this would probably be the one that ends up getting the job due to his and Mitch's close friendship

    Mark Few (Gonzaga)

    Mark Pope (BYU)

    Chris Beard (Ole Miss)

    Bruce Pearl (Auburn)

Rick Barnes (Tennessee) -- Yeah I know this would never happen in a million years...

Someone else not on the list?

  2. According to reports Kentucky is gonna contact Danny Hurley, Billy Donovan and Scott Drew and make them tell them No they’re not interested. Then go from there.

if they all three say no then UK could be in some trouble.

Same. No way is Barnhart going to hire a "big personality"-type that will be bigger than the program. From all indications his relationship with Cal wasn't good. I think a more down-to-earth type of coach like Scott Drew is way more in line with Mitch's way of thinking.

Yep. I think it’s Drew myself. He did just win a national title two years ago and seems to have solid teams year in and year out unless I’ve missed something

Of the more realistic names, he was top of my list. Of course, supposedly he was never even in the running per the "sources", but I still hoped.

From what I read, he had interest and then Alabama boosters kicked in and kept him there

Kentucky has been working back channels today to gauge the interest of Nate Oats per sources. The $18M buyout appears not to be an obstacle. I’m told Nate Oats does not want to leave but Kentucky may still make a push. Now would be a great time for a Oats announcement

  6. “The Tyson family (biggest Arkansas donor) is prepared to make a major commitment to bring Cal to Arkansas, sources said.

Calipari is very close with the Tyson family and has been for years.

The story is gaining volume because major boosters are optimistic this can happen.”
