I've also had this conversation with a parent at a Cooper football game and what they said is that 2 sophomore's have left to go to Boone but several girls maybe coming back from other sports. Also they have never really had a big turnout for tryouts in the past.
-
Then how come I didn't see them in the newspaper?
-
Now I'm not a big Ryle fan but I will have to pick them. Their line was in the newspaper because of how big they are.

Prayers sent , best wishes to you and your family

Clyde, I like the shoes. Had a pair in white when I was a kid.

You are in my prayers WVFrank

Again with the size.
-
I will take Cooper because Holmes does not have a line with the size of SK
-
Cooper's line has just as much size if not more than any team in NKY. It's in their hearts. These boys play both ways and every down with the exception of special teams(maybe). They just keep getting up and playing and they still haven't been over matched and if they were you would have never known it. I enjoy watching these boys compete because they are true football players and will be successfull no matter who is in front of them even the GIANTS at SK.

Met the kid on the AAU road and he is a great young man. I wish him the best

After a tough win against Boone Co. I think the Jags wake up and realize that there are no easy wins and come out ready to play like their first two games. Jags by 2 scores.

How big is Boone County's offensive line? Cooper is not big. If Boone has a big line that is good enough to stay in front of Cooper's fast guys up front, I will be interested in seeing how Cooper handles them defensively. Conner scored 31 on Boone's defense so I believe Cooper will score at least 40.
I remember reading an article about the great size of the Ryle's offensive line. I think Cooper's line has the size and speed to deal with any size line on both sides of the ball.
Cooper by 3 scores

If Coopers D can pressure the QB and control the ball with the run game they should win. Colins should have a big game if they chose to pound the ball. Go JAGS!

I know it's early, but is Cooper a legit threat to go deep into the playoffs?
Was at game tonight and they looked solid all around. Not sure if they will go deep in the playoffs but if they keep improving look out. They look tough. After reading about Ryles big O line I had my doubts but they were a non factor. Let's see what happens next week and take it form there. They could surpirse a lot of fans. GO JAGS

Who is going to step up & take the leadership role.......
Jake Burger will be tough to replace.
Agree. Jake was a big part of the offense often scoring late in the game. Who will step up?
-
If Cooper's running game is moving the ball and defense doesn't give up the long TD's then Cooper will win. Last years game was close until Elliott came off the bench. Should be a good game

Can't wait. Nothing beats 'Friday Night Lights'

Only one girl from cooper played on the National Championship team. The other three played on the other. They have been playin since sixth grade together. In the three years at middle school they only lost three games and did win the freshman tournament against NCC. Some of the girls from middle school left after their freshman year. They are a tough group of girls that can play and play all year long on the shining stars and other AAU teams.
-
I heard that the girl is transferring because the parents are splitting.
-
I read on another thread there were some players from the Shining Stars National Championship team that go to Cooper. Any word on what's going on over there. Must be some talent if they played on an AAU championship team. How many we're on the team...1, 2, 3 ?
Based on the roster from a previous thread I believe there were 4 girls from Cooper between the 2 teams.

I just spoke to Nick this afternoon (in Indy). He has a high ankle sprain and was walking fine. He hopes to play tomorrow and is traveling with the team to WV for their next tournament.
-
I was just in Louisville for an AAU practice and was talking to some local kids about the rankings and each of them rattled of atleast 2 or 3 names of players they thought should be on the list, and that was just from the the Ville.
My point being, Demling's list is his list. He can't see the talent in the entire state , especially eastern and nothern Kentucky. He does a good job and I enjoy his blog and take it with a gain of salt.

Newcath will be tough to handle this season with McDonald and Schulte down low. If the Needs don't settle for threes they could head to Rupp for the first time since 2000.
Will be interesting to see how they defend smaller, quicker, more athletic teams.
Most teams will be smaller with the size they have down low. Not sure if there are any teams that match their size
