NDA just lost to NCC and if they used "taller players" to prepare for their win, I say more power to them! Far too many people spend too much time looking for things to point fingers at than just enjoying the sport they are fanatics about.

It should apply the same. I'm interested to see if the KHSAA follows up on these claims and what they do. The fact that the kids are mentioning it publicly is the most compelling part of both stories. Surely the coaches would know it is a violation or a possible violation. Not sure why they would allow the kids to speak on it publicly.

 

But hey, everybody is doing it so it's cool.

So you've reported the alleged violations? I wouldn't think KHSAA is monitoring BGP waiting to find reports of no-no's.

Yesterday we hit fly balls in the outfield.....infield was way too soft.

She likes it or at least she tells me she does....There were 11 freshman on the team this year and she had either the lowest or one of the lowest act scores on the team coming in but ended up either first or second in gpa for the fall semester. As much as I bash HC I really think it helped her far more than the public school in our area would or could have.

 

She seems to balance both ok every school is a little different as far as how much time they have to put in. I doubt any school puts in to much more time than the girls at JMU. Their coach is kinda crazy and demands alot out of them and they push each other alot also as far as working and practing on their own team bonding activites and such. They always have different volunteer stuff they do or team dinners or camps to work so very little free time. I guess the easiest way to put it is that most her life now has an itinerary to go along with it.

 

I think you know if Haylee needs anything Maddy or I would do what we could to help so if she has any questions just let us know.

That's great that she is doing well! I completely agree about the private school preparing them for college; at least I'm praying it does with mine. Having an itinerary will keep some of them outta of trouble. Although, I find it hard to believe Maddy would be one of those.

Don't check stats bc they haven't been great!! Swinging the bat pretty well but some tough luck and hasn't got a lot of ab's bc of it. Her D has been great so that has keep her in the lineup every game at least.

 

Its been fun and we have played a pretty tough schedule up to this point.

 

Wish I was in Hawaii with her these two weeks.

JMU, now that Maddy is in the middle of the season, how is she liking the softball/school work balance? College transition is always hard but athletes have to have even more tough road. I'm sure she's handling it like the champ she is; just wondering if I need to have mine reach out to her so she can fill her in on what she may expect at te next level.

We were thinking now that bball is over we would switch her to Holy Cross. But she said since you wouldn't be there, no way she'd go so I just put her transfer to Boone in. Dallis & Haylee together for a year. Oh yeah, Baugh is moving too!!

Was hoping to see NDA pull this one out, but glad they're still going to the regional tournament. Holy Cross is a great team! Congrats to both.

 

How did Smith do?

Totally biased but Smith played well. Scored 13, not sure how many rebounds. Not her top rebounding night & missed a couple free throws but she played to win. Can't be upset with that

First meeting this season was at NDA. You believe tonight will be different for the refs?

It was my husband and another dad from NDA that were told to take a seat. However, they did not come out of the stands, they were already standing along the wall. They were told to take a seat when the comment to the refs "it's your job to keep them safe" was made. That was said when it was apparent at half court that the NCC player intended on doing whatever necessary to stop the fast break by NDA. It resulted in our girl taking a hard trip to the ground....

Emotions and adrenaline high on both sides resulted in as Lawnboy said, one of the ugliest games one could witness!!

Fundamentals should be the focus if NDA plans on making it far in the post season.

They did not hold back anything they just missed 15-20 free throws in all the games that they loss except for the Glasgow and Beechwood games were those two teams flat out beat them.

Guess our definition of easily winning is a bit different. Had Holmes hit those free throws, what's to say Boone or Cooper weren't on the money with 3's the same night? Coulda, woulda, shoulda...but to say could have easily won is bit presumptive, especially when there's a loss recorded because of those teams.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking Holmes girls. Congrats on their season so far & good luck on the remainder of the season.

Could of easily won the Boone and Cooper games and should of beat Holy Cross! When they run they are scary!

Since they could have easily beat Boone & Cooper, is there a particular reason they held back those nights?

Missed seeing you tonight paNDA. Notre Dame's 5 seniors started the game. Not one foul called in 1st quarter, score 13-7 Pandas. First foul called pretty quickly into 2nd on NDA but able to lead 21-11 into half, with whistle blown but still not too much. 3rd and 4th quarters the whistle blowing quite a bit. Both teams ended in double bonus, Pandas reached it first and HC coach took advantage with some nice coaching & substitutions. HC was able to make a close comeback (too close for my comfort at least). Pandas held tough and were able to hold on for the win.

All the seniors made it into record book tonight, with Kellam & Ogle leading the team. #3 for HC was top scorer and fun to watch.
