  1. So who travels? And remember, there are on 32 teams in 6A. So you end up having two Louisville schools in a district with SK and Campbell? It just doesn't make sense. Try again.

I'm fine with SK and Campbell being in the same district with the 4 Boone Co schools making it a 6 team district, top 4 qualify for the playoffs. But, to not have the 4 Boone Schools all in the same district makes no sense. They are all going to play each other anyway.

  2. I think it was both teams wanting to do this. From what I have heard, Conner is not having a homecoming dance or anything this weekend, and wanted the kids to have all four days off for Fall Break. I believe it was agreed on. Cooper and Ryle kept the game on Friday. I do not think it is a policy just something that was decided on and agreed on. I may definitely be wrong here, but I know that games DID NOT have to be moved to Thursday on the Boone County end, obviously.

This sounds more feasible and familiar from what I heard months ago when the game was moved.

  3. I expect a strong effort from Conner. It hasn't been their style this season to win big, so perhaps a return to Hebron will change that. They are returning home after playing, and winning, 4 straight road games. Should be a great Homecoming crowd.

Of note, this game is being played Thursday evening at 7 pm. If you haven't seen either team this would be a good opportunity to do so.

  4. Conner was in the red zone because Lloyd gave them a short field not because they moved the ball

A little bit of both. Conner definitely started with good field position, usually around the 50, especially the 2H. Credit their D and special teams. However, the Conner offense consistently drove the ball down to the 10 yard line where they turned it over on downs all evening. The wind and rain limited any realistic FG opportunities.

  5. Strange game. Weather was absolutely a factor. Agree with the earlier comment that both coaches were a little liberal in the passing game under the conditions. Fumbles and mishandles from both teams all evening. Conner D was stellar, as the shutout attests. Lloyd did not cross the 50 the entire 2h until their final drive. Conner was in the red zone all game, just couldn't punch it in. Their score was a bit lucky, on a tipped ball in the end zone. Warwick was in the right place at the right time. Impressed with Lloyds D line. As mentioned, were put in a tough spot all night long on a short field and did not break. Conner moves to 5-1. Very sorry to hear about #2 from Lloyd losing his mother this week. Cougar thoughts and prayers out to the young man and his family.

  6. Thank you. Not trying to bash the schedule because you can't really control how good teams are going to be. But, as someone who has not watched Conner play yet this year, are they as good as their 4-1 record shows or does some of it have to do with them not playing really good teams? Again, genuinely asking this question as I have not watched them play.

The Scott and NCC games have been mentioned as "measuring stick" games for Conner, and they are 2-0 in those games. Conner is solid and having a nice season, but still needs to improve in all areas to compete with and beat Ryle and Cooper, IMO.
