    Rachel Montgomery: Williamstown / Rachel had a terrific week putting up 66 points in 3 games. 16 against Carroll Co. 25 against Grant Co. and 25 against Lloyd.

     

    Liza Tibbs: Dixie / Liza Tibbs had a great game in a win over Lloyd putting up 32 points and 12 Rebounds

     

    Ally Niece: Simon Kenton / Ally has had an amazing week to go along with getting her 1000 point earlier in the year.

     

    1/17 Ally had a season high of 24 points 5 rebounds 5 assists and 1 steal

     

    1/24 Ally had tied her season high of 24 points she also put in 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals

    Nominees:

     

    Breenan Stanley / Williamstown: Breenan had a solid week scoring 26 against Simon Kenton 21 against Dayton and 14 against St. Patrick

     

    Jacob Barnes / Conner: Great Week for Jacob!! 29 against Covington Catholic 21 against in a win Ryle.

     

    Cole Vanhandorf / Covington Catholic: Cole made a big contribution to Cov Cath's 3 win week. He had 17 against Hughes / 16 against Holmes and 19 against Conner

  3. I am not usually a fan of blaming refs but this is a game that was not well called for Holmes. I saw too many no calls for Holmes and at least three phantom fouls for NCC; not including a play where NCC player passed the ball and turned and ran over # 22 and the foul was called against 22. I usually don' t pay much attention to how a game is refed however this game was obviously poorly refed in favor of NCC. That being said Holmes must learn to deal with these situations so it was a good learning experience for them. Not to take anything away from NCC they played a very good game hitting FTs and 3 pointers when it counted. Holmes shot poorly again including from the free throw line. They will need to hit the few free throws they get down the road. They were lucky to get a call on the final play of the game with Harris at the line to seal the victory.
    You can run over a player and it still be a blocking foul on the defense. Just because a defensive player gets run over that means nothing.

    Nominees:

     

    Justin Weyer: Highlands High School HHS went 3-0 last week. Due to the injury of leading scorer, Justin was forced to step up and lead the Bluebirds. He scored double figures in each game (12,15,14) and also led the team in assists. He was a starting wide receiver on the stae championsip football team and is an academic all-star that will graduate with 42 hours of AP credit (ACT - 33).

     

    Seth Adkins: Grant County Seth put up 20 points against East Jessamine and 30 in a win over Pendleton County

     

    James Bolden: Holmes High School James had a great week scoring 21 in the Holy Cross game / 16 against Newport and 20 against Cooper all 3 games were wins for Holmes

    Nominees

     

    Seth Adkins Grant County: Seth Scored 22 points in a win over Williamstown

     

    Austin Schreck Dixie Heights: Austin scored 18 in a win over Ryle

     

    Ben Weyer Newport Central Catholic: Two 33 point games in the last week, averaging career high stats as a Junior. Has been having the best week or two of his High School career.

    33 points were scored against a line-up of 6'4" to 7'0" players. 10-10 from the free throw line against St. Louis as well.

    Bailey Cummins / Bracken County .Bailey had Another amazing week scoring 87 points in 3 games!!. 33 against Harrison Co. 33 against Robertson Co. and 21 against Scott

     

    Brianna Adler / Highlands Brianna had 7 threes!!! and scored 26 points against Newport

     

    Hailey Anderson / Cooper 18 pts, against Ryle and 23 pts. against Scott County. Averaging 20 points a game over last 5 games.

  7. Congrats Lexie!!

     

    This week Lexie had a triple double in the game against Cov Latin. 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. She had 17 against Newport. Lexie broke her wrist during the soccer season and is just now recovering and able to play 100% and started playing point guard this week. She made a half court shot at the buzzer during the Cov Latin game to end the 3rd quarter.
