  1. No, no, no, there cannot be trouble in paridise again, can there??? We readers thought the disharmony was over and a thing of the past in WV-land. Please, say it ain't so. I sure hope that "too many chefs" won't spoil the soup this year. Let me say that WV has a very fine group of kids and outstanding coaches -- it would be best if outside observers (fans and parents) will just let them do their thing without any adults stirring things up.
I didn't hear anyone in this thread mention anything about disharmony. I think if you asked any of the coaches they would have the same concerns that have been listed on the thread. It would best if those who don't know what they are talking about would let constructive conversation take place.
  2. If you think you know that than your are not as familiar as you think.[/QUOTE]

I'm very familiar with the team. I know every player on the roster and I know there is no true point guard sitting on the bench other than Shelby. I still would like to know who you think is this non-used point guard? Put a name on the unknown face. It's no secret that the point is going to be a problem for Walton and it will take some time for Shelby to mature. If you know of someone else, please solve this mystery. This could be the missing link for Walton this year.

I am very familiar with Walton and know that there is a girl who will be a sophomore who has played point since she was in kindergarten so I don't know why she can't play it now. I have refereed many of her games at SOAS over the years and IMO she handles the ball well and makes good decisions and sees the floor well. Just one refs viewpoint.
  3. Who is this mysterious point guard that is on the bench? I'm very familiar with the WV team and I know they don't have another point guard sitting on the bench or on the court. Shelby is the only true point guard and she needs to develop quickly.

  4. .

Yes, they will be getting a transfer who is a shooting guard but they need pure point guard. They have one (Mulligan) but seem to be reluctant to give her any playing time. IMO, she is the missing piece to a very talented squad.
IMO they have another one with experience that handles the ball and can get to the basket very well. IDK why she doesn't get many reps at the point
  5. I heard Walton could be getting a transfer or two this summer and it would dramatically improve them at the guard positions.
For sure a transfer that will help them. Just not the ball handling answer that they need. I still think they need to solve the ball handling problem that plauged them last year against quality competition to get to the next level. I hope they get it done.
  6. .

If the Bearcat guard play keeps on improving as it has, they will be a very tough team to handle in March. If they choose to do so they can go with a very big line up. Should be a very interesting year in the 32nd District and 8th Region.
Agreed guard play is the key once again this year. Ball handling seem to be the weak point last year. If they find a solution I think they will be lights out
  7. Northcutt/Prokopchak/Rothwell/Wilhoit and West have been playing on the same team this summer along with some other players from the 8th and 9th. Wilhoit and West have been solid as usual the other three have made huge leaps. Rothwell will be able to handle the ball this year and take a lot of that load from Wilhoit and West freeing them up more. Northcutt has improved on rebounding and post moves and has added the ability to knock down the 3 to her game. Prokopchak has matured and it seems to be starting to click with her how good she can be. I think Willamstown will be solid this year and the surprise team in the 8th.
