  1. That sounds plausible. How close were you? I mean if you claim to have been closer than me, then where were you sitting?

Cuban, I'm talking to the person using this account right now and I promise you also he was much, much closer than you were.

  2. I havent seen Sexton pitch enough to really compare him to prior outings. He appeared to be throwing hard (82-85 mph according to the radar gun @ Freedom)... he was a bit wild.

And Coop, glad you were able to digest that pie. BTW, I would have to agree that they don't have an ace... We'll see who they run out there on Wednesday

Yea I noticed he was pretty wild too. But in all honesty Conner hitters really gave it to Sexton. They hit him quite hard.

  3. Is Sexton's arm healthy? Heard rumor that he's been having some arm issues. Didn't see this game, but told he just didn't look like his normal self.

Congrats to Cougers. Before Cuban Missile reposts my prior prediction about Dixie winning, I've already had my slice of humble pie. I slathered it in A-1 sauce so it wouldn't taste so sour. For the record, though, I was hoping for a Conner win and will be next game also. If Ryle can't play in the region, may as well root for an all-district 33 final of Conner vs. Boone.

I'm not sure. All season he has been wearing a compression sleeve on his throwing arm and even had one on today while he was pitching it looked like.

  4. Bertke did a great job but he was done, there are other pitchers who could of came in. Cain went to his coach after the inning and told him he was done. I don't think you win or lose with one player it just not fair to the other players.

I agree Marley, was Colin Johnson not available for this game?

  5. There were 6 runs on Sexton and East walks in one. He should have been pulled after he gave up a hit and two walks. Oh well. He actually did a good job in relief. By the way, where's Sportsfan?

Im right here. I just got back from Freedom in case you were wondering. Yea Dixie got beat and its been and up and down season all year long. Sexton didnt have his A game working today and the Conner hitters took advantage of it. Good job to the Cougars.

  6. They're going to have to get by BW and Bertke first.

I agree. I don't think NCC will get to Bertke. I'm guessing Beechwood 4 NCC 1. Also like Solomon said Dixie does have graduation on Wednesday at 5:30. But they Seniors at Dixie said that they will play in the semi's instead of graduation if it comes to that point.

  7. Not sure about the times except for CovCath

    CovCath

    vs. (12 noon)

    Newport

    Dixie

    vs.

    Conner

    NCC

    vs.

    Beechwood

    Boone County

vs. (Last game of the Day)

    St. Henry

Dixie Heights has a pretty good draw also. They beat Conner last week 7-4. The Colonels threw their #5 against the Cougars and the Cougars started their #1 or #2 in Nathan Freese.

They also have already beaten Cov Cath 10-3 while Cory Severson was on the mound. The Colonels threw Dematteo at them when they beat them earlier in the season.

Im sticking with my word and saying Dixie Heights is my sleeper.

The NCC/Beechwood game will be very interesting.

  8. To win the region this year you will need 3 things. I would say you need 2 very reliable solid starters, and a "shut the door" reliever. With the tourney being Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 2 good starters good get the job done. Which ever team has these 3 working hard and on the same page together will when the region. Some of the teams that I think have those are these teams:

Boone County Teegarden and Laumann and as a reliever I would say Shwartz

Conner Nelson and Freese and as a reliever I will take Maines

CCH Maile and Shumate and as a reliever, Severson

Beechwood Johnson and Bertke and in the pen will be Brilz

Dixie Heights Sexton and Barnhorst and in relief will be East

NCC Cain and Sullivan and in relief will be Gray.

  9. Are you saying all 3 of those offered scholarship money yet he chose TMC?

Well I dont know if they offered scholarship money but I would assume so since they have that opportunity. Kids do that all the time. Take Sam Ligget for example, he was offered by NKU and Coastal Caroline and yet he chose Transy for his own reasons. Its just wherever you feel like home is. And I'm also certain this decision had alot to do with playing time down the road.

  10. Brad Popham chose TMC over Transylvania University(D3) and Miami(Oh) Hamilton University

Corbin Dematteo chose TMC over St. Catharine University(NAIA) and Miami(Oh) Hamilton University

Tyler Sexton chose TMC over Morehead State(D1) and Lincoln Memorial University(D2) and Cumberland University(NAIA)

I'm really happy for all these young men to extend their playing careers and more importantly staying together as friends and team mates. Best of luck to their futures and bring home another PAC championship and a World Series ring.

  11. Had a great season for Ryle. Heard Popham and Sexton from Dixie might be joining him there. The Saints are going to be stocked with some great NKY talent. I think it's a great move on their part to help keep the local interest up, not to mention keeping open the pipeline for some of the better talent in NKY.

This is very true. I have talked to both of their parents personally.

  12. I'm not so sure this is a given SF99. St Henry improved towards the end of the year and with the weather, who knows when the championship game will be played...I'm assuming Sexton won't be pitching for the Colonels with the Regional starting Monday.

To my understanding the next time he will throw will be the first round of regional play.
