  1. Tibbs is the best I have seen this year.

She is the best I have seen too. Saw her play shortly after Christmas, and she was dominant. Had about 30 points and probably grabbed 15-20 boards against a quality team. Has a very nice shooting stroke for a player her size. No disrespect to the other players mentioned, but the discussion of 10th region best player should be a short one. The quality of schools recruiting Tibbs shows you who that player is.

  2. Looks like Coach Hollon pulls off the upset. PCC has been the better team all year imo but seems like every since that Breathitt/Hazard game Hazard has been getting better. This makes the draw in the region even more interesting. A PCC and KCC first round could be ridiculous, this could set up an unpredicted winner in the end.

Perry/Knott in the first round would send the 14th in a frenzy. I for one would actually like to see that.

  3. Give me a break! Why are you always so critical? Funny....in this thread Bracken's cupboard is full....in another.....they're in a rut. Which is it? Make up your mind.

I'm fairly certain that a "good job girls and coaches...keep up the hard work" would have been sufficient. :thumb:

On a more important note......Way to go BC Lady Bears! You deserve the win---you ladies fought hard for the title! I love your scrappy play and fast paced style! You girls are awesome!:dancingpa

You've got him pegged. He's a self-described 'fickle fan' (http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/showthread.php?p=3717389#post3717389). Interestingly enough, one of the definitions for 'fickle' is 'not constant or loyal in affections.' :sssh:

  4. So PK and CP, keep coaching these ladies up year round.

As if they weren't going to in the first place? :eyeonyou: I'm sure these two coaches are aware if the cupboard is indeed full. From what I've seen, your girls basketball coach has been doing that. If the information I'm reading is accurate, he's had the team in the regional tournament two years in a row (going on 3?) and won a small-school championship this season.

As for your softball coach, it appears that his team has enjoyed quite a bit of success lately. I'm not exactly a ladies softball fan, but I'm seeing a 2009 record of 25 wins to 13 losses with a small school championship, district title, and regional final four berth.

From my vantage point, these two men are already doing what you're asking.

  5. On the flip side of what you said, Mason County has missed more days than Augusta or Bracken County and has played 4 games total since January 26. They don't seem to be wearing or rusting out, oh well.

Good for them. I'm simply providing you with the rationale most coaches are using, and that it makes perfectly good sense for them to try and get as much game time in as possible. The teams Mason County has played since January 26 are not quite their caliber, therefore it would be a bit difficult to determine whether they're wearing or rusting out.

  6. Today's afternoon game will be 3 in a row for Bracken County, one they had to go into overtime on Senior Night, one they were 21 points down and this afternoon they travel to an arch rival, Augusta on Monday will be 4 out of 5. If they are able to defeat Augusta, St. Pat/Mason County will be 5 out of 7 and so on and so forth. May be a good thing, we'll see. If they aren't able to get by Augusta at home on Monday night, bad. If they win the district, good. Simple really.

A lot of teams in northern/central/eastern part of the state are playing a schedule similar to what your Bears are playing. Mr. Gator accurately pointed out that Monday night's game will be Augusta's 3rd in 4 days. Hasn't been a lot of gym time, so coaches have to get what they can get. Better to wear out than rust out.
