  1. A Highlands Hater is one thing, but an ill-informed Highlands hater is another. Based on the draw Highlands had to beat Dayton and Bellevue. Unless you didn't know that, your bias would lead one to suspect you may be lacking the necessary capacity to post on here.

Highlands beat Dayton by what 4? C'mon man. Flynn's best days as a coach are long behind him, but hey Highland's program is in the same shape. Hope he sticks around awhile.

  2. Deters is just like any parent today, Thier child can do no wrong and it has to be the coach's fault. T and X are T and X for a reason. yeagle and Mueller are great coaches but do we honestly think they could beat T or X with that team and only 6 days to prepare?

Your arrogance is wreaking like a bad fat odor. For one define WE (mouse in your pocket?). Do you have a clue about theses game? Trinity's bingo was way down that year because X was a much better team. X beat us by 14 in an very entertaing game. Lost our best player beginng of the 4th still gave em a tussle had a bal call and lost. It happens.Believe would have gone on and beat anyone else in from of us .Problem is after kids come up there the offense never changes no matter what kind of personal shows up. They thing about the 2 sucessfull coaches, I think betwwen the 2 of them they recruirt a mighty fine team in a weeks time.

  3. I will agree with one part of Deter's comments. Simpson's senior year, I think that team shouldve won a state championship. If Mike Yeagle, Dale Mueller, or someone of that caliber had that talent, they wouldve won. They have won titles with less than the talent SK had that year. That year saved Markesberry's job, imo. The fact that SK that year was the 4th seed in the districts and struggled to win only 4 games in the regular season is an absolute joke. That is coaching, imo. He did what any coach with that much talent would do. He got them to the dance. Congrats. He almost blew it, but you gotta take your hat off that Markesberry didn't screw it up. The next yr, I don't believe they were the best team in 6A and wouldnt have won a title. I don't think it wouldve mattered who was coaching them that year.

Save his job from who??? Himself? Any schoolboard member that Lets on man be an AD and the head football coach at a large 6A school is making a mistike. Need people policing people not being feared of the bigh bad wolf.

  4. Hey, I'm not saying they are. I have tremendous respect for Coach Steiner and think that the Pioneers have a ton of talent (more so that probably Gallatin). However, based upon some of the comments on BGP, there were some that were ready to annoint them regional champs and had them heading to the Sweet 16. I realize that may be just the fans in some of us, hoping for our team to succeed. But, if there's enough of that type of talk around the players leading up to the game....Gallatin is the type of team that can take advantage of that. That's all I'm saying.

Whoever goes to Rupp this year from the 8th will no doubt earn it. I think it's the best overall field of teams since SK joined. I think 6 teams have a legit shot of making it out.

  5. They meet in the first or second round a bit...have they ever played for the final?

Dont know if they have but it would ruin the tourney financially. 500 people in the seats. Hotels would be alive and well with people parting watching the NCAA tourney. NOBODY LIKES THE LOUISVILLE SCHOOLS, ESPECIALLY THE THE ONE THAT GET KIDS FROM ALL OVER THE METRO AREA, ALL YEA INTO INDIANA AS WELL Just better you meet in the first round and get it over with.

  6. If the Pioneers forget about the Wildcats and are looking ahead to the semi-finals, they will severely regret it. Not to say that he hasn't had a very good player every now and then...but, Jon Jones has gotten more out of teams with less talent, than any other coach in the 8th region in my opinion.

Simon Kenton is playing some very good ball lately, but...I think I'll still take Gallatin by 4.

Know for a fact there not looking past a team that pasted them by 19 early in the season in a rugby match. Not that kind of coach.

  7. GRC does have the bullseye on thier backs and are playing great basketball now. Just have to take it one game at a time. Lots of upsets going on in post season play.....just hope we don't become one of them.

Was just trying to say the 10th is usually stronger than the 8th but do not think that's the case this year. After seeing many 10th region teams, don't think GRC has any problem taking the region unless they they play there worst game of the year. In my opinion I believe the 8th is better this year for the first time since SK moved there from the 9th.
