I agree on going to anything like that and throw the Derby right in there too.

I did watch the entire draft while I sat here and "worked" and was able to carry on with everything else in life and be totally informed on the draft/news/etc.

With all that said, I would go somewhere like the Miami Grand Prix this weekend as long as it was in the rich people section which I can't afford, lol.

I'll introduce you to some of my elite South Beach friends!  🤩

  2. I know it is one big party, but at 64 years old, I don't understand why anybody would want to stand for hours at a time at the NFL Draft just to hear 3 or 4 players mentioned for their team.  I had my ESPN app and I was able to follow the progress of the draft pretty well and I turned on the TV whenever the Bengals got close to a pick.  I was able to get a lot done at home while still staying aware of what was going on.

You all can thank me for helping with this win. I was at the game. Reds are getting no hit. I went to the restroom and to get a snack, and of course the Reds scored their 3 runs. The next inning my wife said I needed to get up again and go get something, just get anything.

As long as she doesn't say "go get something and keep going until I tell you to stop", you're ok.

The ones with their arms in concrete barrels...lift them into a public maintenance truck, move them to a park somewhere and drop them off. Let them figure out how to get out of the barrels themselves.

I guess amputation might be a bit harsh?

  5. Our favorite location is the Ft. Wright one on 3L by Walmart.  The staff is kind and very hard working, but I feel like they are in a losing battle because of the low amount of customers.  I like the salad bar and breakfast buffets, but the dinner buffet is horrible.  If the prepared food (like pasta and sauce) is sitting there for any length of time, it gets very stale, looks terrible and tastes gross.  When I go in the evening, I stick to my old favorites like the fish sandwich and chili.

  6. I need Purdue to win 2 more games to capture the top spot in a big work office pool.  I could use the winnings for my vacation.  Hopefully, both UConn and Purdue get to the finals and the UConn bus breaks done on the way to the arena.

Oh, by the way, I didn't have time to fill out a bracket myself.  I used an online randomizer to make my picks.  I sure want to win and drop that fact on my co-workers!  That could be as much fun as getting the $300.  Well, almost.

What does everyone think of the new rules from the competition committee? I think the new kickoff rule is a good one...kickoff's have slowly become throwaway nothing plays as over 80 percent of them have resulted in touchbacks. This new rule should increase the action in games, and result in more exciting plays. The downside is no more surprise onside kicks, although you rarely see those outside of end game situations where everyone knows they are coming anyway.

The hip drop rule I'm a little more torn on. I see why the league did it...it is a dangerous play. However, it's going to be tougher to bring runners down from behind now. NFL stats say that this tackle only occurred 236 times last year across the whole league, so it's not as common a play as one would think. But it resulted in 15 serious injuries (the best example being Mark Andrews getting hurt).

Of course on social media the complaints of "just put flags on them" are rampant. I don't see how either of these changes make the game softer and I'm constantly amazed at how much excitement and enjoyment people get from watching athletes get hurt.

Gladiator mentality has been around for centuries.
