What teams are playing in the scrimmages at Lloyd this weekend?
-
There is an all-star game set up to place between NKYFL versus BCPWFL at the senior level only. It will be on Saturday Nov 14th 6pm at Simon kenton High school. You will see some serious talent on that field.
Was Jalen Hayes #5 for Newport last year as a first year player?
Any idea on the rosters? Will the teams actually practice?
-
7th Woflpack beat 8th Wolfpack by 10 or so.
Jets lost to Rockets 33-36 I believe.
The 8th Wolfpack/Knights coached by Wendling. This is a different team than the one finishing in the AAU semi's last year. That team isn't playing at SOAS.
-
8th grade Rockets are the team to beat in the U14 Division.
Didn't the 7th grade Knights team (When they were the 5th grade Wolfpack) knock the Rockets out of AAU state a couple of years ago?
Have the Rockets gotten that good or did the Knights decline?
I know a couple of the players - Jake Schulte, Alex Trentman, Brian Rieger, Evan Cepate??
-
I agree 100%. If they want it to be consistent, then mark it off.
It should be marked off in high school as well!
-
It's probably a good idea to leave it up to the team. If we are all being honest there are 3 or 4 other teams that should have gone D1 as well...not mentioning names ...Omega, KY Elite, Suns and Scott Co. Wolfpack (the defending champs)!!!!!!
I'm glad you didn't mention any names!
-
Nick Jackson didn't come from Twenhofel..
Apologies. As you can tell, he wasn't on coaches radar last year. I'll be looking for his name this year.:thumb:
-
Barth from CC is a load on the block but not as versatile as Grosser or Englemon. He does have a sweet turnaround J though. Why isn't that kid playing football?
He played and then had an injury early in the season
-
Nick Jackson didn't come from Woodland..
Twenhofel's big men last year didn't stop him. Both sat on the bench in foul trouble in both games that were played.
-
And away we go......
There are some refs who are very good at SOAS!:thumb:
-
Nick Jackson is a solid post player when you can keep him in the game, either due to fouls or attitude. Barth may be the best on the block right now, although Saunders is the best all around.
Engleman has a ton of upside. Suprised to hear that he is at Holmes now, although I shouldn't be. With Engleman gone and Saunders playing up, I reserve the right to change my vote.
The bigs from last years Camp Ernst team should develop nicely over the season.
I would agree Englemon has upside and Saunders is better than Englemon and Barth, but the best all around freshman in NKY is McGovney.
-
Scott does have the best big guy in NKY, however he may play up and that will hurt. I like Scott's depth, a lot.
That's a big statement. Barth from Campbell Co is a load with great hands. He was hard to stop 1 on 1 last year. Woodland's big man last year definitely didn't stop him???

Seth Hope 6'2 , Drew Houliston, Bobby Plau, Mac Franzen 6'1 (possible Bird), Jalen " " the fastest kid in the league on the Green team, Tyler Schweitzer (current frosh player and stud lineman), Nick True 6'4 (also current frosh player), Brandon Hergott 6'1, Andy Buten RB, these are just a few that I know of in that class.
Are we talking about Highland's Freshman football for next year or this year's NKY Knights 8th grade hoops squad??? LOL!
-
Sticking to my guns- Scott at 1A and Bishop at 1B........
Bishop without Saunders are not 1B. I would bet that Holmes will have most of their 8th grade team from last year playing Freshman and not moving, but maybe 1 of them, up.

Honestly, my post was never intended to lessen Miles accomplishments. Perhaps it was worded awkwardly. Let me try to rephrase it. Would it be just as impressive if a 2A or 1A player did these things against teams in higher classes? My arguement would be yes, perhaps even moreso because they were playing above their class. However, MILES SIMPSON deserves every bit of credit he is getting but I think players in the lower classes are often not given the credit they deserve when they accomplish these things. JMHO I wish Miles the very best for continued success for the rest of the season.
Who in the lower classes are putting up numbers against 6A competition that you are talking about?
Simpson is a STUD! PERIOD!

I agree...
2nd that.... Stanley has improved his outside shot and added that to his arsenal of weapons. However, he will be difficult to stop going to the bucket, if not impossible!
-
From HHS #7 Donovan McCoy (QB,LB) and # 55 Tyler Schweitzer (T,T)
AND he's only an 8th grader!:ylsuper:

I am not 100% sure of this but I heard that the Ville is not together this year and that one or two of the players is with the Knights. Take it with a grain of salt, just what I had heard. They played last year and I think the Ville clipped them by low single digits.
I'm not sure if the Ville has stayed together or not, but none of their players are with the Knights.
-
Does anyone know what teams are playing in the 8th grade AAU league at SOAS this year?
The 7th grade/U13 NKY Knights will be. They should be one of the favorites to win it all!
-
But what good would a new gym be to our football program???
3 words "Indoor Practice Facility". Roll out the hardwood and goals for 5 months out of the year.
-
I have heard that Campbell is only having one team per grade this year..
That is correct!
-
Stanley is tremendous but we all know it is a team sport.
One thing that may help Ockerman is they played all summer together without Stanley.
Any way you cut it, whoever set up this league is really on the ball and I am thankful.
It is a team sport, but it will take a team of 7th graders to stop him. Ockerman won't be touched this year!
-
Yup, but just because your held back a grade doesnt mean it wasnt a good move. He has a very late birthday and is still only 13 yrs old and stands 6'4 and goes about 210lbs. Held back or not, he played frosh ball last year so its a moot point. I just hope he plays another year of frosh ball because I think it will be good for him but I dont make those decisions.
You know me, I don't buy in to the whole held back garbage. I was just arguing Scamp's contention. The kid is huge and he will be eligible to play his senior year in high school, so it doesn't matter.
-
You knowed it. LOL
Which 5 do you speak of on the Red Devils? Harris/Wood/Geimen/Hergott and Wrobleski?
Along with the usual suspects from last year.....Verst, Schweitzer and Schneider and 2 more from cakeland.
