Very nice win for the Rebels! They seem to improve every game.
-
Gonna go with Owen on this one...They have a lot of momentum at this point and seem to improve each and every game. However, I do believe this will be Owen's toughest opponent also and should be a really tough game for both teams. Excited to see how this one plays out.
-
Gotta go with Carroll on this one. Will Butcher be back? I heard last week he was out part of the Bellevue game last week.
-
How did Hawkins do for Frankfort?
-
6'4 8th grader Carson Williams of Owen County-his big brother is 6'8 senior Sawyer Williams who also plays for Owen

I agree gchs_uk9! I am excited to see the rest of their season.
Skilld-Kid...In 2010, Owen won their first 2 games of the season then won their 4th game of the season. Their record ended up being 3-8 for the year.
2010: 3-8
2009: 3-8
2008: 2-9
2007: 1-11 and only scored over 6 points twice that season
2006: 3-7
2005: 2-8
I think you get the point...regardless of who Owen County has played or hasn't played, they are improving. They have beaten every team they have played in the 2011 season so far, what else can you ask for? No one said they are going to win the state championship, just that they are having a good year and have reason to be proud of themselves. I wish the best of luck to the Owen County Rebels and Coach Fowler with the rest of their season!
-
They have played nobody so far, some not very good programs who are even having down years compared to their history, lets see if they beat anyone decent.
Owen County has not had a winning season since the early 90's...let them enjoy a little success.

Erlanger Lloyd (28-13), Grant County, (20-6), Bourbon County (21-14), Western Hills (32-26). They have a bye week this week and play at Bellevue on September 23.

I am gonna have to go with Henry Co by 8.

#1 Oldham/North Oldham
#2 Collins
#3 Owen
#4 South Oldham
#5 Walton Verona
I know what Owen has coming back, just dont think they have got better at the guard spot, will not handle pressure again ,never been past final four, etc. Just dont think they are better than the top 3. They have not won the ALL A in a long time, which is a regional type tourney, most all A schools call it in after that tourney
I am going to have to disagree with your rankings. I agree the guards are really going to have to step it up this year, but I think they are ready. They were very young last year. Owen County will have great senior leadership out of Williams and Osborne and some up and coming talent from the bench. I think little Williams will be a tremendous asset to the varsity program this year. I am not saying I think they will win the region...just don't think they are getting enough credit. Only time will tell.

How did Bourbon's RB do? How are the new facilites, field, etc.?
I believe you are referring to #5? If so, he scored Boubon's 2 touchdowns in the first quarter. If he gets loose, he is gone! Very nice player. I was also very impressed with the new field. It looked very nice.

Congrats to Coach Fowler and the rest of the Rebels! Best OC has looked since I can remember.
-
And I might add that #22 (Williams) forced a fumble and picked it up and ran it in. Also, #11 (McDaniel) scored off an interception.
-
I agree with the fumbles and turnovers but can't believe that is the only thing you can give Owen Co. Regardless of how many unforced turnovers there were, Owen County came to play. Granted, there were times that they had opportunities in the game to score where they didn't capitalize, but no one said they played a perfect game. However, they deserve more credit than they are getting right now. It was a great game and this is the best the Owen has looked in years. Congratulations Rebels!

Thanks DRKARK! I think it will be a great game! Thankful that it is football season
-
Gonna have to go with Owen on this one. They have great leadership that I think will get the lose end tied before Friday night. The DE/WR is 6'7 with great hands. I look for big things from him this year. They also have some amazing speed as well. It should definitely be a good game that I am excited to see.

broadlink.com The voice of the Running Rebels.
Awesome! Did not know that. Thanks so much!
-
I missed it also. I did listen on line,
Listened to it online? What is it broadcasted on? I will definitely have to do that next game!

Thanks getalife!

Couldn't make it to the game tonight...Anyone know the outcome? I received a text at halftime saying it was a close game.
-
MOJO52, I am anxiously waiting to hear your thoughts on this game. Hope you can make the trip!
-
I believe Williams had 6 points -4 fouls & Shelton had ZERO points and 3-4 fouls! Owen Co. won but they did not dominate inside. Webb for Trimble County did.
Those were the stats for the first week of play (The first 3 games) Not the Trimble County game.
-
I do believe a "so called BIG BOY" was named NCKC player of the week last week.
-
I've known Shelton for two years now not only is he strong in body wise he is strong minded, he will not let his feet or haters down him, on here or the court and, he will be the best player that Owen will see this season...With out A Doubt!!!
Those are some pretty strong words.

I believe Owen County's middle school program is undefeated as well.
