If she is half the ball player her dad was in high school, she could be special to watch. I had the pleasure of seeing Randy play in HS and he was a freak of an athlete (and I mean that as a compliment). In HS I saw him touch the top of the backboard. How he, Jason Williams and Bobby Howard didn't carry their team to a state title that season is still a mystery to me.
I was a member of the Kanawha County School Board at that time (unfortunate issue for Randy at that time while attending Dupont HS) and you are correct, "freakish" is a good word. Watched him run track there also and that was freakish as well.

This is always such a mess to sort out. There was at one time allowance given within the "same school district" that has "open enrollment" such as Kenton Co. and Boone Co. that allowed movement if both coaches agreed and signed off.
I had heard that there is confusion about all this bouncing stuff since the lawsuit between KHSAA and the Highlands Football incident of a year or two ago which is still pending between player or HHS and KHSAA (when HHS was stripped of all football victories but allowed to play in state finals.)
Hope the youg lady finds a high school home and gets a great education and chance to show her basketball skills (in that order.)
ALL CRAZY! :idunno:

All of our best wishes to you young lady! Gene, Kim and Nikki!

Where and when would you want me to stop in saving your life or the lives of your family? Simple question! How you answer will define your idea of where torture begins, ends, and its' definition. :idunno:

Bekah Towles and Lauren Tibbs played with the Blue Chip All Stars this past weekend in Atlanta. They may play in another tournament with that organization later this summer.
Bekah and Lauren joins Katie Allen, Allie Conner, Devin Beasley and others on the Cutter Hoopsters and will be playing in a variety of exposure tournaments in July.
Sydnie Wainscott (SK) and Nikki Brown (SK) are the other two scheduled to play with them this summer.

Louisville Southern "Spring-Break" Classic.
Great tournament coaching debut for (SK) Jeff Morgan and his staff.
4/3 Friday Night Pool A Play:
Simon Kenton 5 Greenup Co. 4 WP C. Morgan (1-0)
Simon Kenton 5 Louisville Southern 1 WP K. Morgan (4-0)
4/4 Saturday Pool Play:
Simon Kenton 4 Glenbrook, IL 1 WP K. Morgan (5-0)
Saturday Elimination:
Simon Kenton 1 Henry Co. 0 (C. Bond "walk off" HR) WP K. Morgan (6-0)
Championship Game:
Louisville Southern 4 Simon Kenton 2 LP K. Morgan (6-1)
Not in favor of how this tournament was structured. Although it did not hurt SK in POOL A.
4 teams in one pool and 6 teams in another. Cooper (1st season) being one team in large pool really upset the stats in POOL B. Very large runs scored on them and this became an issue in tie breaking. Macon Co (TN), Calloway Co. and Beth Haven all had a reason to be upset in POOL B. Should have been resolved with team stats only for those involved by "head to head." (JMO) :idunno:
(IMO) A host school should run the tourney and sit out or play in pool but not be eligible in elimination series. Not because Lou. So. beat SK (it was a great game) but because the earlier events put a shadow on the event

My wife says scoreless through about 3rd. After Brown (SK) doubled off fence in fourth she said Campbell pitcher just lost her edge. SK scored 2 that inning and then 8 the next "game called."
-
Simon Kenton 3-0

When fastpitch softball pitchers get an 0-2 count on a batter, do you think you set them up and try to get them to fish for something in their eyes or low and off the plate? Or do you go right at them?
Fish in most cases.

Thomas Moore ! Nothing but the best for CT and her family! What a ride it has been watching her play. Happy my daughter had the opportunity to play with her! :thumb:

It will be fun!!!!!

I am going to disagree somewhat. SK losses a ton. Im not sure how they are going to score points next season. Wainscott, Brown, and Ponzer are not scorers. They will all score some, but all three played off the Tolliver and Smith really.
The one thing they will do is defend though. Ponzer is a great defender (when she's not fouling). I think they will be in the mix, but they will just be too small to deal with South Oldham and Oldham. If im not mistaken they will start 4 players that are 5'5 or shorter (im guessing this to be Browns height). But it's a rebuilding year in the 8th. Everyone outside of the Oldhams has major flaws IMO.
Yes, size will be a problem, Brown is the tallest of the three at 5-7. They have some 5-9 / 5-10 help comig off injury. Blevins and Pace will have to really step-up. In this region they are still in the mix and with three state experienced players we cannot count them out. After all hold a team to 40 or less and you only need 41. Keep an eye on Wainscott :sssh:. You're right about the strength of the region.

I know the thread got off track a little earlier but today I did find out that MOSS (RYLE?), Sandlin (BOONE) and DAVIS (BOONE) will all play summer in Lakota. :idunno:
(IMO), I would think anyone roaming (free) in the NKY area, that wanted the opportunity to showcase or play at the “Sweet 16” in 2010, would lean toward or investigate playing in the 8th region because of its weaknesses. (Lots of beating up goes on in the 10th with so many great school programs.)
Who knows about being allowed to play here or there anymore? Did you read about HIGHLANDS and the KHSAA in today’s paper?
-
Still feel that SK is the team to beat in the 8th. "DEFENSE" and very stong core returns with Wainscott, Ponser and Brown. SK physically tookover the 8th in this years tourney and those three were very physical.
-
If you saw the final game Brown took everything Anderson slammed at her.
-
If you don't have it locked in a safe Ponzer will steal it!
-
Wainscott will be able to be more on the scoring side than assist side with CT gone.
Height will be their challenge. Losses are big. Smith played her best season ever and the Figgins(s) were great to bounce back after repeated injuries. They have some size returning from injury in Pace-11, Blevins-10, Orr-9, who could be the deciding factor. Stowers always gets the most out of his pool. Very close in 2010 but SK still has close edge this early. IMO

Any system without accountability to perform (in some form) on the student is a waste of effort, resources, and time.

Congrats from the Browns' !!!!!!

Absolutely. Rock or Lincoln would likely have done just as well as we hope the gals from Liberty. Casey will represent the 12th very well and we are all proud of them. Good luck and we will see you playing on Saturday and maybe Saturday night!
Don't overlook SK, they seem to have the uncanny ability to play to the level of any opponent. :idunno:

:ohbrother: Dodged a bullet last night. Bench came through big to put it away. Hopefully, they have all settled down and can take care of business tomorrow!

Finished 4-1 in pool play.
Play in 2nd place bracket tomorrow 8:30 Am at McGee's. The team from St. Louis that they lost to 46-44 went 5-0 and play in the 1st place bracket.
D1's ? I would say TIBBS (Jr. Scott Hs) would be a favorite. Katie Allen (Highlands) possibly and I think Towles (Highlands) has played pretty well. All the girls are playing real well except for the egg they laid against St. Louis.
Who knows? It is July and they cannot talk to the viewing scouts and the scouts can't talk to them or parents this month.
Good number of D1's are there though and a swarm of 2's-3's.
You just don't realize the talant out there until you get out of you small arear of the country and watch one of these showcase tournaments.
