  1. I wouldn't want anything to do with Chris Walker. Every time I saw him over the spring and summer he was lazy, played with zero passion or aggression and had a big hand in dragging down a very talented team to at best average status. Talented? Sure. Not worth the headache from what I saw of him...

Has anything changed regarding this over the past year? I saw some scouts talking about how he has shown great effort lately. The kid seems über talented, but UK still hasn't offered him so I doubt they're going to. Must be a head case or something.

  2. The size of your foot is equal to the distance from your elbow to your wrist

Is this true for women as well? Kind of hard to believe it would be because of how much smaller their feet are in general.

  3. Has anyone played Cherry Blossom in Georgetown? I got a 50% off deal for tomorrow after work through GolfNow, so I'll be heading there at 5. I'd like some of your opinions if you've played there before.

  4. My game has been rapidly improving this summer. I'm starting to consistently shoot mid-80's and I'm hitting the fairway much more consistently off my drive (using a 3W mind you).

Putting game is about the same though, so I'm really going to start working on that. According to my GolfLogix app, my average putts per hole rating is 1.81, so it's still one of the better parts of my game. Just not where I want it to be.

My biggest problem is consistent ball striking. I still find myself topping the ball or hitting it off the club head way too often for my liking. This adds strokes to my score that are both unacceptable and embarrassing, and can really kill an otherwise great day. Hopefully that will improve the more I play though.

I also need some more touch when chipping around the green. The ball always seems to go a little further than I'd hoped. This game just gets more and more addicting... I guess I'm in it for life now.

  5. My roommate and longtime best friend is Billy Ray Cyrus' nephew and Miley's cousin. I've been around them a decent amount and stayed at their house in Nashville once. Aside from that, I guess just being around UK players on campus and stuff. Ate at Tolly Ho's with Boogie and Wall one night. Boogie was a cool dude, really talkative and funny. Wall was pretty quiet the whole time.

My mom worked at the cancer center in Ashland for a while and Dykes Potter was one of her patients. I got to spend some time talking with him and got a lot of autographed stuff. He was one of the nicest men I've ever met.

  6. I believe that D. Miller and D. Lamb both came out winners, considering the teams that drafted them and their opportunity to make the roster.

I think I saw where someone from the Bucks organization said they definitely plan on keeping Lamb around, so it sounds like he should lock up a contract for sure. I feel confident that Miller will too.

I am officially a Hornets fan. I've never truly had an NBA team that I follow very closely, it was more about individual players. Now, I can safely say that I have a TEAM to root for. Excited to see how much they improve over the next couple of years.

  7. Do any of you guys know if EZLinks or GolfNow are legit websites? It seems the idea of it is to give golf courses the opportunity to fill up tee times that i assume they have trouble filling by offering a discount at these times, or just to get business in general...For instance according to the Hickory Sticks website its $40 per person for 18 with a cart on the weekends but thru golfnow.com I can book a Tee Time at 11am this Sunday for $18 per person for 18 with a cart...That's a 55% discount...I'm wanting to take my dad golfing on Sunday as we are both working on getting back into it but we are pretty rusty and it's hard to fork over a lot of money to go and stink it up  I have been over on the golfwrx forum quite a bit reading about clubs and such and read a thread about these places, most over there say they are legit but I was wondering if any BGPers have used these sites before?

I use GolfNow for almost every round I play (which is quite a bit). Definitely legit, and one hell of a website. Book it.

  8. Not really sure what Houston is trying to do. Some say they are willing to go after Howard even though there is "not a chance" (From a source) he stays in Houston past this season.

I say keep the three top 20 picks and get some really good young talent! Maybe trade up into a top 10 or something. This is a pretty talented draft class, so they are in a very good position right now. Trading Budinger for a first round pick was genius on their part. They basically got away with murder on that one, unless I'm missing something drastic in the details.

  9. Great round of golf!

Cassel Creek used to be known as Sportland. It is the first 18 hole course I ever played, back in 1982, the first year I started playing golf. I haven't played there in a couple of years but it is a fun course to play, open and no sand traps.

Another 18 hole course in Winchester not far from Cassel Creek is Southwind. It plays about 6200 from the tips, the other set of tees plays about 5800. They also have a nice restuarant there after your round is over. The prices are very reasonable: Golf around $22 (that was last year) and food is not expensive...and they fix a great steak.

I will definitely check the course out sometime soon. Unfortunately, I am going to be broke for the next several weeks (dang furniture for the new house I'm renting starting in August. :irked: ) so that means no golf for a little while. I'm quite depressed about that...

  10. I've got no problem with people feeling sorry for what she went through and giving her money. My guess is that those donating to her also donate to several other charities and no one is getting short changed because someone sent her money.

As for the little punks on the bus, we'll crap like this happens when corporal punishment is no longer available as a punishment or deterrent. The parents of these kids deserve the lions share of the blame for not teaching their children to respect others. I would take the phone that recorded this video and make the kid it belongs to smash it into 1000 pieces with a hammer. These kids don't need in school suspension or detention after school they need to be put into a juvenile detention facility for a week or so. Then maybe a boot camp like facility to teach them some humility and respect.

Sounds like a job for Dad of the Year!

    I love this video.

  11. Re: The Video

I really wish I could say this surprises me and isn't the norm, but that's just not true. This is just how a LOT of kids are nowadays... It was like that when I was growing up, though not quite as bad as it is now. My little sister's generation was pretty rough, and it seems like things just keep getting worse. I don't really know if there's a solution. You can say good parenting, but we all know that not every parent is going to crack down on their kids like they should. For the most part, parents are completely ignorant to this side of their child to begin with.

The actions of these kids were thoroughly disgusting and I hope someone takes charge and does something (although not necessarily the thousands of harrassing phone calls the kids got because their phone numbers got posted online).

    Re: The Donations

I don't really see a problem with people chipping in a few bucks apiece to show their support for this woman. Just because there are more deserving causes doesn't mean she isn't deserving of this kind gesture herself.

Re: The BGP Plan to Make Money

If we're going to do something similar to make a quick payday, count me in! I'll assist in PP's complete and utter emotional destruction for such a cause.

  12. Not sure if this has been mentioned already (too many posts in this thread to go through and read them all), but is there any chance Noel won't be eligible? I've heard some rumblings that it's possible. I don't know anyone connected to the program or anything though, so it's definitely just hearsay.
