I think the winner will be either GRC, Montgomery or Mason. There are several other teams that on that one night can knock off any of these three teams. You can't overlook Pendleton, Campbell, Brossart, Harrison and maybe even Scott. But I have thought from the beginning that this is probably Montgomery's year with the home court during the regional.

Nice win. How did Harris do in the JV game?
-
Nice comeback but they can't keep starting in a hole and expect to win. The plus is they don't panic when playing from behind because they have that experience.
-
Hopefully GRC gets back on track and wins this one.

This team continues to confuse me. A lot of talent left, and I've learned better than to ever count out Coach Simms in the postseason. They have enough talent on the court and on the coaching staff to still make a run.
No denying they've underachieved in the regular season though. A strong postseason run, and no one remembers that though.
Very true on all counts.

Prewitt is growing more and more as a player each game. Last night He had 29 points with tough defense in his face all night. And in the past he was an outside threat. Friday night and last night he scored both inside and outside. He seems to have matured a lot and taken his game to the next level. 40 points, 21 rebounds & 29 points with 11 rebounds.
Having seen him play numerous times over the last two years his maturity has been an issue in some games. If he has gotten past that... well then look out!

I think about everyone expected more from Rowan this year than we have seen so far. I have only seen them once this year but in that game it looked like to me that there might be some chemistry issues among some players.

Nice win Central.

GRC wins a squeaker 58-55.

Agree that I too think Stenzel wins it, with Fatkin coming in 2nd. Also like your all region choices, all very deserving too.
Agree.

Montgomery should make this a close game but HC appears to be really starting to get their young talent clicking so I'll go with HC, 76-70.

Sorry I had to miss the game but a nice win. Grey is a cousin and I hate missing his big shot. Trevor is a great kid.
-
Harrison wins at home in a close game. I like Ford's supporting cast better than Black's.
-
Stenzel or Prewitt. Pendleton's mixed bag of success this year has hurt Monroe's chances. McGovney is the only other player that can be legitimately considered.

Solid win for GRC congrats,Still think the Royals can make a run if they get Harris ready and gel over the next few weeks...
Is Harris really going to try to play? I still keep hearing that UK is strongly suggesting that he not play basketball and to continue to rehab toward football. I am sure that as a senior he really wants to play and I don't blame him but his future is UK and football not a dozen or so games at the end of the season on the basketball court. Either way I hope he makes a complete recovery.

Nice win and everyone contributed on the defensive side. Nice three by Isreal at the end of the third. Black had a nice game but not much help tonight. Very small Mason crowd. I am sure more GRC fans would have made the drive up to the Fieldhouse had the game been there. It will be interesting to see if they turn out better for the region at Montgomery.

Looks like Henry Clay is not ready to concede the 11th to the supposed favorites just yet.

In Riverside's defense for these kind of games: What choice do they really have if they want to play and they must it seems. With consolidation there are only so many Red Birds and Rose Hills out there and those type of teams are the only ones they are going to stay somewhat in the game with. If the kids are happy, play on.

Just can't see Montgomery winnning by less than 20.

That is one "tough" district. Even seeded the results wouldn't be much different every year. Since the merger has Mason ever missed the regional?

Understand that the Frankfort Convention Center is much like Riverfront Coliseum (or whatever they are calling it these days). They have no affiliation to a specific school or team. Picking up events such as this is the primary focus of a place like Frankfort, so it is win-win with them. Those of us who prefer Richmond will have to resign ourselves to realizing that we are probably not going back there, or possibly to any venue serving as "home floor" to a specific college team.
This same NCAA rule is the reason the KY Derby Classic is headed back to Freedom after only one year in the Yum Center. Luckily it does not effect KHSAA sanctioned events so regionals and the Sweet Sixteen are safe at "home floor" facilities. At least for now but with the NCAA who knows about tomorrow. They are at best consistantly inconsistant.

I am definitely in favor of seeding, because it rewards teams for head to head results, but with that said, district tournaments are extensions of the unseeded regional and state tournaments.
But the only one of the three to reward teams that lose a game.
-
Perfect example of why everyone should seed. Like others have said some district champ gets a great first round game against Nicholas or Deming.
-
IMO GRC has shown a great knack for winning close games. However, playing that style lends itself to having teams stay closer than they should come tournament time. With their lack of depth, if Fatkin or Bopper get into foul trouble, they could spell a dangerous situation.

Super win for GRC. Wow I sure hated I missed this one. Radio signal was so bad at home I had to go sit in the car to listen to the fourth quarter when I got home.
