At last years Finals you could stay for all the games. we got there prior to our game and watched all of the 4a game before us.

Being a fan of Simon Kenton I would say all Trinity has to do is watch film of the second half of the SK vs X game and they should get the W...Knowing the tradition of Trinity I know they have to be much deeper than SK was and probably faster with much better coaching, but I believe if Trinity takes a page outta Coach Marksberrys game plan from SK and mixes in some different looks of there own Trinity should get the W...A few observations are its possible to shred the X secondary with the pass because they just aren't very good and on defense if Trinity keys on the X running game as SK did in the second half then X shouldn't move the ball to well because there passing game is non existent...I'm gonna take the Shamrocks in this one because of better coaching and equally as good players and athletes if not better...Trinity 31- X 14

SK put up the most points againist X on the season and exposed them! look for A Trinity repeat!

Yes muddy fields are almost like an extra defender. It makes it harder to pass block as well as run the ball. But in my past the funnest games we played were in about three inchs of mud. That's what football is all about "getting down and dirty in the trenchs." Over all Miles Simpson is one of the best RB if not the top RB in the state. It felt good to be blocking for him for his first Career Varsity TD against Scott his fresh. yr.

Miles 1st touchdown was aganist Conner!

A couple observations: SK is dismantling the district this season, which tells me two things; they are clearly very good and the rest of the district is very average.

 

Not a knock on SK, they have arguably the best player in Kentucky and are certainly one of the 10 best teams in Kentucky, regardless of class. If the rest of the district was so full of good teams though, shouldn't someone have given them a test?

 

Can someone explain to me why SK played Shroder and Highlands played Withrow in the same week, instead of playing each other? Both were new contracts.

 

Boone's defense is giving up 34 points a game. When coaches Trosper and Warner played, Boone might give that up.....in five games.

Withrow balked at swaping weeks so SK could play Highlands.

What is up with LLoyd? I am an alum now in Louisville with sons at Trinity. The Erlanger Lions are always good so what is happening?

 

I know Erlanger goes through these stages of growth and decline every ten years. Is the community old and small again?

 

What is going wrong from the Lions to Lloyd?

The NKYFL Lions players are going to Beechwood, SK, Dixie, Ryle instead of Lloyd. They see the advantage of open enrollment and want to win bottom line.

Im going to say Cooper by ATLEAST 2 TD's..

Looks like SK is going to live up to last season IMO...

It's going to come down to Simon Kenton being able to stretch the field. NewCath looked good against the run against Dixie. Their problems were in coverage and losing their rush lanes to allow Miller to scramble. They held Simpson to under 100 last year, and this year's defense isn't too far behind last year's at this point. It is the offense that is suffering growing pains.[/quote

 

Simpson was not the featured running back in that 1st game, late in the 2nd quarter when DaWalt wasn't producing yards did they bring in Miles.

Not true. Beechwood will have a freshman team. The numbers are lower than normal like happens at times in a small school. This year's senior class at Beechwood has only 8 or 9 players and those guys are all wearing two championship rings. There will be a freshman team.

Have been told these kids will play JR Varsity.

Why were the teams in uniforms/pads?

The KY squad did not play defense in the game.

East 6 West 0

West MVP was M Kelly NCC

East MVP was D Loscak Boone

Very Tight game you could tell from the lack of practice.

The East blew 3 chances in the Red zone to score.

Only score was the 35 yard TD pass from Guidilgi to Kelly.

Nice crowd on hand and what a perfect night to play and watch some HS Football.

Your best guess would be Joe Colosimo with Cory Crane getting some touches.

Crane's got to stay healthy to be a factor. He's was hurt his freshman year at SK and his Sophmore year at Beechwood.

HC is probably the closest you are going to get to the speed of T or X outside of Louisville, that should help prepare them for the playoffs for sure.

SK plays them early in the season.

Is Simon Kentons schedule out yet? And if it is could someone post it?

That would mean somethings changed, and SK would meet one of the two prior to the Championship.

If SK makes it to the Regional Championship game they would indeed play X in that game.
