Give credit where credit is due...to coach Steve Lovelace. He made some adjustments to the Colonel D and Owensboro didn't know what to do. Unless you knew what County switched to and had time to prepare for it in practice, it's very difficult to combat. I'm sure that if you asked the Owensboro staff they'd tip their cap to Coach Lovelace and the masterful strategy they employed last night. Great job Colonels and keep rolling next week against John Hardin!!!

Not too many games any better at any time of the year than Christian County and Hopkinsville. There are going to be some serious athletes running around that stadium this Friday night...

How is making the offense be set for an additional second going to change anything...?

With the current 6 class system, I would limit the number of playoff entrants. The top two in each district is plenty. The playoffs are no longer a reward for a great season. By allowing winless (and some could even argue sub-.500) teams to make it we've seriously watered down the first round. It's not necessary for everyone to make the playoffs.

That's party why Lexington football isn't any better than it is. It should be on par with Louisville football, but it's not anywhere close.

So what do they have returning? Do they have the caliber of athletes to compete at a high level in 5A, or just in their area?

Wow, so it's essentially like kicking a field goal with a running start. Is there any stipulation in the rule as to when the fair catch has to be made...as time expires or after the horn has sounded?

So if a team fair catches a punt...say before the half...they can elect to attempt a feild goal from a kick-off formaton. Is the defense allowed to rush...?

I don't think the problem was with the system. Anyone that runs it knows that what is run in high school and at Troy is not what was run at Auburn. It was, from my understanding, and edict that was laid down that certain things would be done a certain way. You never saw a lot of screens or quick game throws from Auburn. It was run the ball or thorw it down the field. That's not how the system works.

Word out of Auburn is that Tony Franklin was fired by Coach Tuberville today. I'm sure there will be more information available after it's formally announced. What's everyone reaction seeing as how he used to coach high school and college in Kentucky?
