He won 13 games in three years...the program is not in better shape. And Campbellsville is hardly greener pastures. What makes a coach go from a 5A school to a 1A school? Makes you wonder...

What type of talent is there in Jackson County? How about community support? Since it's a new program, how do their facilities look?

Shouldn't there be something in the paper today? Or if not, at least a statement issued by the school...?

Nobody had replaced Coach Wiseman...

He's accepted the rumored job...from what I've heard.

Because at some schools, kids that otherwise might play baseball, won't in order to participate in spring football.

That doesn't make sense. The way it's set up now is during baseball season...it's always going to be during baseball season. No football coach in their right mind should ask baseball kids to attend spring football. That's your opportunity to work with everyone else.

What are some of the places he's coached before? Where was he and what was he coaching last year?

Why don't we just make spring practice a two week period in May? The weather is better and nobody expects any baseball players to be there because they're in season. If you make it the same time for everybody you eliminate any advantage/disadvantage of having a good or bad basketball program.

I think what he was trying to imply is that just because you've coached 18 years at the same place doesn't necessarily mean it's a good thing. What can he bring to the table other than what he learned from his time at that one particular school? Personally, I would think an assistant coach would be more valuable had they worked for a couple of good head coaches to experience different systems and environments as opposed to just working in one place.

That being said, I don't know the man and wish him the best of luck at his new job at North Laurel.

Who is he and where is he from?

Don't take this the wrong way because I don't know the man or situation at the school...but when you're the class of your district it's not that hard to win district coach of the year. That's not exactly as big an honor as it used to be since the districts have been watered down so much.

What's the situation in Pikeville? They seem to have good tradition and nice facilities...

Here's what you need to think about before you shorten football...how many winter sports pay the bills. The answer, none! You'll find a few basketball teams that generate a profit and a few football teams that don't, but in general, football pays the bills. Why would you want to cut a week off of your (potentially) only revenue grossing sport?

The Colonels definitely have speed. They have a slew of running backs, but one in particular, that doesn't get caught in the open field. There QB runs very well as well. They're primilary an I formation or some R and L formations in the backfield with some 3 and 4 receiver sets sprinkled in.

I formation with a little 3 and 4 receiver formations mixed in. They've got a couple of excellent running backs and a QB that thows it o.k. but is an excellent runner.
