Newport had Mays and Simpson in '81. Cov. Cath. had Turney and Berling, Romes '80. Conner did beat SK in '81 with Thomas, Carr, Pitzer-Uhlman '80 and Robinson '79. New Cath had Cowen twins. Boone had Moeves, Coffman. Walton- Verona had Anderson, Burns. SK with Mckinley, Dixon, and Meyers. Holmes had Works and Sebastian. Beechwood had Brown and Mosier. Lloyd had Hucthinson. St. Henry with Reuhl. Campbell had Peters. Here are some of the best Seniors in '81, hopefully I did'nt leave anyone out

Walton-Verona's freshman team went undefeated. Played mostly with 7th and 8th graders. Dixon is a freshman starts varsity and Ginn and Cheeseman 8th graders played up as well. Wins over Highlands and St.Henry. Would of liked to see a game with Ryle

Involved with a 14u team out of NKY,girls form Grant. Walton, Conner, SK, Williamstown,Scott. Always interested in good ballplayers

Have to say the 81 Walton team was far from a one man team in Burns. Johnny Anderson was 1st team all region player on that team. 9th region Class "A" player of the year and recieved the Dave Cowens Hustle Award. Played at Wm. Carey College. Don't forget about Kevin Martin his running mate at gaurd who played at Berea.

SK sure had a nice team in 81. Beat Walton-Verona in the District 72-70 2OT. What a game. The region that year from top to bottom was very strong. 33rd district had 7 teams and was very strong.

The 78 Holmes would beat the 81 SK team. Played against both teams. Holmes with Beal, Schloemer, Wimzie, can't think of the big guys name. SK had Mckinley, Meiers, Dixon, Ponzer and Mullins. Holmes got robbed against Shelby Co. and Charles Hurt.

Ryle's big problem is their hitting. They averaged a little over 2 runs a game last year. I believe there cather will be soph. her last name is Williams. Ryle only beat Conner in the regional finals last year 1-0. They also got put in the losers bracket in the state with a 1-0 lose to S.Laurel on a wild pitch. They will have to score more runs this year to get back to the state finals.

Sullivan from Walton-Verona is getting minutes as freshman should be a impact player as a soph.

Walton-Verona has possibly one of the top 8th graders in the 8th region if not in the state. She hit well over .400 in 2007 and won 8 games pitching with a low ERA. By the way her name is Jenalee Ginn. Any thoughts?
