Good win for Harlan Co. over a talented Breathitt Co. team.
-
HC freshman had Knox down by more than 30 at one point.
-
Final
 I thought Clay would win, but not by that many points. This is nothing against Clay, but they should not be 20 points better than Knox. Good win for a very solid Clay Co. team.

Corbin- 62
South- 58

The Black Bears have some good guards on that freshmen team.
-
I agree, Boyd Co. had some great teams in the 90's.What has happened to Boyd County! They had some really strong teams in school history and have fell off the map in the last 5 or 6 years. Talent comes and goes tho I guess in this situation. -
Corbin played very good in this game. I believe Scott Co. has the talent to play with some NAIA teams.
-
Buckhorn gets my vote as one early top 7 or 8 teams in the mountains.
-
This should be a great game, but Scott Co. will have to much talent on the court and on the bench. They are loaded with talent and depth. This could be one of the more talented teams every in the state.

:thumb:If a high school wants to come up with the fundage ( lots of money) to rent out The Arena to practice in, that would be the only way that would happen. It is a business and no way affiliated with Corbin High School. If a promoter has the money to host a basketball event there and accepts teams from the 13th Region, so be it. But remember, the promoter must pay a rental. It's a business, you know making money.:thumb: -
Clay will get the win tonight in Clay Co. They have the most balance and depth in the 13th region. I do believe that Clay Co. and Corbin are the two best teams in the 13th. If they played later in the year at Corbin, the Hounds would in my opinion get the win. They are not much difference in these two teams at this point in the season.
Clay Co.- 62
Corbin- 58

Shooting in a big arena is a HUGE factor. If anyone of you have played in big arena's or gyms in the past, you will get my point. I believe if the 13th is going to be played in this arena, then do not let any teams practice or play in the arena before the tourney.
-
SAD to see the 13th moved from the individual high schools. This will take some of the tradition out of the games. This will also give Corbin a big up on other teams in the 13th for the next four years.

I look for Justice to win Mr. Basketball. In years past, when the mountains have a great player he takes a boat load of votes. The other sections of the state are loaded with talent which should cause a split in votes. These are just a few examples of past Mr. Basketball winners from the mountains. Please add if I left a player out of this list since the 80's.
(JR. Vanhoose, Charles Thomas, and Richie Farmer).

Buckhorn has a really nice team. They have two solid guards and a very good young big man. This was a huge win not only for Buckhorn, but also for the 14th. In years past I believe the 13th has been stronger. That may not be true this season with Buckhorn beating one of the top 3 teams in the 13th. I would love to see someone take the top 3 or 4 teams in those regions each year, and have like a 13th vs 14th region challenge.

8:45am Clays Mill Baptist v Trinity Christian
10:00am Bluegrass United v Bracken County
11:15am Buckhorn v Carroll County
12:30 Barbourville v Pendleton County
1:45 Marion County. v Lincoln County (Girl’s)

5:30 Lexington Christian v South Laurel
6:45 Larue County v Southwestern
8:00 Oldham County vs. Henderson County
9:15 Clay County v McCreary Central
The Clay Co. McCreary Central should be the best game of the day. Whitley Co. and East Jess. will be a up and down game to watch and South vs. Lex. Christian should be a nice game also.
-
Should be McCreary Central and West Jess. for a trip to Rupp this season. I also thought East Jess. had some nice talent this summer.
-
Harlan Co. has the talent and size to beat Clay Co. this year. I believe they return all 5 starters from last season. They South Laurel team will also be very good.
-
I believe the 13th region has maybe 4 teams that could later in the year crack the top 25.
Corbin
South
Clay
Knox Central
All 4 of these teams will be really strong.
-
I will go with the team from the mountains. This Hazard team has a bunch of speed and plays good "D".
-
The physical play of Bell Co. will take over the game in the 4th.
Bell Co. -28
Boyle Co-20
-
Great win for the speedy Jumpers team.
-
Good season for Coach Donahue and the Dragons. I really thought the Dragons would play Hazard a good game.
-
49-0 Hazard was the last score I got on the radio.
Barbourville 71 Bell County 58

Is the Robbins kid hurt for Bell Co? If so that is another reason why the Bobcats are not @ full strength. I believe he is the second best post player in the 13th behind St. John.
