I would like to see the record of the Tigers from 1970's to the last game played in that gym. I would say they did not take a "L" more than 10 times during those days. :thumb: The old gym Carr Creek high school played in would be another great gym.The old "Tiger Den" at Clay Co. which is now the middle school. -
Congrats to Mr. Justice in all he has done over his time at Shelby Valley. I hope he brings home two more awards back to the mountains (Mr. Basketball and the state title). I have only seen him play maybe two or three times, but he is super quick on both ends of the floor.
-
Corbin is still the top team in the 13th and still my number two team in the mountains.
-
I disagree. #5 started the jv and varsity game and he can flat fill it up from outside. But when I left early in the 4th quarter, I believe he had only taken 2 outside shots and was 1 for 2. I cannot remember his name but he appeared to be an excellent shooter.
I do agree that neither team looked impressive. Both teams missed some easy shots, especially early on in the game. Another thing that hurts Harlan County is their schedule. They have a solid record, but really haven't played many top notch teams.
Who is the tall kid who just transferred to Harlan County that started in the post last night?
Harlan Co. has played a pretty good schedule with teams like Clay, (Breathitt Co. (Beat Corbin), Buckhorn (Beat South L.), Madison Southern, and a team out of Virgina that could have beat any team in the region. They also have Corbin left on the schedule. Also, playing a super hard schedule and not winning many games could kill a teams confidence. :thumb: I also see your point about playing a great schdule, but I believe it could also back fire.
-
:thumb: If Houge comes back 100% the Bears still could make some noise.Neither team really looked impressive to me.Harlan County was playing without their best player in Kyle Hogue. In my opinion, the Black Bears win the game if Hogue in playing. He is their only legitimate threat from the outside.
-
I believe when Harlan Co. gets Houge back, they can play with South, North, Bell, Knox, and Clay. You notice I did not mention Corbin Mr. Les. I believe your Hounds are above the rest of the pack at this point.
-
Shelby Valley is a lock to get back to the Sweet 16 and they got a great draw. They have a great chance of getting to the finals.
-
I still believe Bell Co. is one of the top 4 teams in the region. They play good physical "D" and have good size at all positions. The Robbins kid also played in his first game against Harlan Co. and came up huge in the second half. Robbins is one of the better players in the region but has been slowed by injury.

:thumb: Every person at Rupp got up on those two dunks.Lonell DeWalts dunk in the state championship was my all time favorite -
1. Corbin- Johnson and Wilson are the best combo in the region.
2. South L- St. John is a load + they have solid guard play.
3. Clay Co.- Reed and Wilson make Clay Co. dangerous come March.
4. Bell Co.- Maybe the most physical team in the region.
5. Knox Central- They have top two or three talent in the Region.
6. Harlan Co.- Solid team on "D" and Fields + Houge is a nice combo.
7. North L. - Playing the Tigers to OT at Clay made me believe they could be a sleeper team.
8. Whitley Co.- Solid team but they have to play in the same district with Corbin and South.
9. B-ville- They have 4 or 5 players that can shoot the three.
10. Lynn Camp- If they pick up the "D", they could pull off a win in March.
Please rate your current top 10 teams.

This is a great draw for Shelby Valley. SV will be my pick to win the Sweet 16. What a season if they could win both the Class A and Sweet 16. The other bracket is so top heavy, look for those teams to run out of gas.
-
Madison Southern is one of those teams that could pull off a big win or two in the regional.
-
To score 80 on a Pineville team that likes to slow the ball down is impressive.
-
Very bad draw for the mountain boys of the 13th region.
-
This was a very good game in which Harlan Co. was without guard Kyle Houge. The game was between 4 and 6 points all night. These two teams could see each other again later in the year.
-
Is Reed back playing for the Tigers? I thought Lex. Cath would win by 20+. Congrats to Clay Co. on playing close to one of the top 10 teams in the state.
-
Did Amos play he also plays basketball.I agree, I felt had KY used the backfield they had, they would've ran away with the game. Some guys who I'm sure were chosen to play defense still could've went in and played a down or two of offense (vice versa), for example Caleb Watkins would know how to run power or sweep. Raglin the same, Rees, needed a lot of carries as well as Hayden. Shocked Amis didn't see anytime at QB considering the formation used was a Pistol set, the entire time.

:thumb: B-ville will have to shoot the ball real good to beat Lynn Camp again. Lynn Camp has some nice players and good size. I also believe Pineville will be in the finals. Some very good matchups I think that it will be Lynn Camp and Pineville in the finals. -
The Sweet 16 is the best of the best in ky. high school sports. I hope they never change to a six class system. I believe the Class A is a great idea also. Becasue one out of ever 10 years you have a class A school that can compete on a state level. The past few years you have had top 15 to 20 teams at the Class A level with Shelby Valley, Elliot Co., and Hazard. That has not be the case since the mid to late 90's with Class A schools such as UHA, Lex. Cath, and Harlan. I believe the system is great at this point with having the Class A for small schools and the Sweet 16 for everyone.
-
I am going to pick B-ville to win the district and Class A region.
-
Knox Central is the surprise in the region. They have top 2 or 3 talent in the region, but continue to struggle. I believe they have not played a good game as a team since the Harlan Co. game. Miller had over 30 points in that game against the Bears.
-
Holmes and Scott Co. have the best talent in the state.
-
Harlan Co. has a very good freshman team, but needs to develop a true post player for the future.
-
As long as football player are contributing to Bell County's basketball team, they are always going to start slowly.
From what I've been told, Bell has had some kids out, but has a very good team when they are all healthy.
I think Harlan County has to be the favorite in that district right now, with Bell coming in at second, especially after HC's win over Breathitt.
Robbins would make them the most talented team in the District.
Scott County 79 Madison Southern 69

Madison Southern has a really nice team. They do not have the talent of a Scott Co. or Lex. Cath, but they could pull off a big upset in the 11th region. I am not saying they can win the 11th, but they will make some noise. They have some some stong guards and a kid with good size inside. They are one of the top 25 teams in the state.
