  1. I disagree. #5 started the jv and varsity game and he can flat fill it up from outside. But when I left early in the 4th quarter, I believe he had only taken 2 outside shots and was 1 for 2. I cannot remember his name but he appeared to be an excellent shooter.

I do agree that neither team looked impressive. Both teams missed some easy shots, especially early on in the game. Another thing that hurts Harlan County is their schedule. They have a solid record, but really haven't played many top notch teams.

Who is the tall kid who just transferred to Harlan County that started in the post last night?

Harlan Co. has played a pretty good schedule with teams like Clay, (Breathitt Co. (Beat Corbin), Buckhorn (Beat South L.), Madison Southern, and a team out of Virgina that could have beat any team in the region. They also have Corbin left on the schedule. Also, playing a super hard schedule and not winning many games could kill a teams confidence. :thumb: I also see your point about playing a great schdule, but I believe it could also back fire.

  2. 1. Corbin- Johnson and Wilson are the best combo in the region.

    2. South L- St. John is a load + they have solid guard play.

    3. Clay Co.- Reed and Wilson make Clay Co. dangerous come March.

    4. Bell Co.- Maybe the most physical team in the region.

    5. Knox Central- They have top two or three talent in the Region.

    6. Harlan Co.- Solid team on "D" and Fields + Houge is a nice combo.

    7. North L. - Playing the Tigers to OT at Clay made me believe they could be a sleeper team.

    8. Whitley Co.- Solid team but they have to play in the same district with Corbin and South.

    9. B-ville- They have 4 or 5 players that can shoot the three.

    10. Lynn Camp- If they pick up the "D", they could pull off a win in March.

Please rate your current top 10 teams.

  3. I agree, I felt had KY used the backfield they had, they would've ran away with the game.

Some guys who I'm sure were chosen to play defense still could've went in and played a down or two of offense (vice versa), for example Caleb Watkins would know how to run power or sweep. Raglin the same, Rees, needed a lot of carries as well as Hayden. Shocked Amis didn't see anytime at QB considering the formation used was a Pistol set, the entire time.

Did Amos play he also plays basketball.
  4. The Sweet 16 is the best of the best in ky. high school sports. I hope they never change to a six class system. I believe the Class A is a great idea also. Becasue one out of ever 10 years you have a class A school that can compete on a state level. The past few years you have had top 15 to 20 teams at the Class A level with Shelby Valley, Elliot Co., and Hazard. That has not be the case since the mid to late 90's with Class A schools such as UHA, Lex. Cath, and Harlan. I believe the system is great at this point with having the Class A for small schools and the Sweet 16 for everyone.

  5. As long as football player are contributing to Bell County's basketball team, they are always going to start slowly.

From what I've been told, Bell has had some kids out, but has a very good team when they are all healthy.

I think Harlan County has to be the favorite in that district right now, with Bell coming in at second, especially after HC's win over Breathitt.

Robbins would make them the most talented team in the District.
