Lewis County Rained out, next game May 4, Rose Hill at home. Let's have a big crowd for our ladies.
-
I've seen these girls do this before...get into a lead and then sit back and the other team creeps up and they get beat...what happened to the other coach they had?
She resigned.....
-
Boyd will be a good test, they have a quality team.
We had a big win agains Boyd 8 - 6 on Tuesday night.
We play Lewis tonight over there.
Ladies had one bad inning, the first and then came around, the bats came alive and the defense was solid, they play like they did on Tuesday night they can play with anyone in the region.
-
The district will be a tight one this year depending on who draws who, on any given night anyone of those teams could beat each other.
GCHS plays Boyd tonight.
We got beat twice this weekend, we hit the ball early in the game, got out to a lead and then just quit, unbelievable...
-
Any info on when they plan to start working on the field? We have had great weather and I would have thought they would have done something by now.
I was told they need about 4 days of draining and then they will start the grading if the weather holds...
-
With the current coaching staff staying in tact GCHS will be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come. The talent is there, always has been, and now GCHS has the coaching staff to do the job to get them to the next level.
-
Speaking of Kitchen, how is his back? He never came in for treatment.:idunno:
He is doing a lot better, I was at the weight training today and he was hitting it hard!
-
Kitchen really has to step up big now.
Yes he does and he knows it!!!
-
We have two games across the river tomorrow, we will keep you posted on how the ladies do...
-
Greenup County went back to not hitting the ball again, Raceland 3 GCHS 2.
The ladies have 1 win and 2 losses, one against Raceland and one against Russell.
The team is right now 7-11 with all but 4 of those losses by 2 runs or less.
If we can get the bats going, it will be tough to beat them but as long as we don't hit the ball we are not going to win.
We have a lot of talent and the coaching staff is doing an excellent job with the ladies. If we would have had these coaches the past 2 years, well the difference would be amazing.

What about those Lady Musketeers!?! GCHS 3 Fleming 0
We have Raceland at home for Senior Day on Thursday, let's get a big crowd out to support our ladies...
-
Everyone needs to keep Brian Grayson in your prayers. He has a severe left knee injury. I just hope that a quick surgery and rehab can help him return to the field healthy and unaffected ASAP.
He is as tough as they come and if anybody can get back 100% soon, he can... My thoughts and prayers are with Grayson and his family.
-
Looks like we are going to play Fleming County there today.
-
Heard they had hitting practice for 5 hrs on Friday.
True story....
-
Looking like the rain is going to get us today....
-
We Started hitting the ball this weekend, beat Ironton 4-3 and Notre Dame 4-1.
Got Boyd Monday, Fleming on Tuesday (away) and Raceland on Thursday for Senior Night. Let's hope the momentum swings through the week...

These girls have so much talent. Unearned Runs and not hitting the ball the way we are capable is killing us. We have way too many errors.
GCHS has been in every single game but 3 that they have lost, had all of them won but 3 and we end up having one bad inning throwing the ball around, making costly errors.
Our 2 - 6 hitters are all in a slump, big time, since they came back from Louisville they have only had a couple of games where they have hit the ball the way they are capable.
It is a very frustating season for GCHS softball at this point but I have faith that these girls will turn it around, come together and win the district tourney and make a run in the regionals, they do have the talent to do so.
-
Not with playing Ashland the very first game!
That is why we kick it off.....
-
Corey said they boxed the other day and he said it was great.
The things coach has been doing is making the boys more aggressive and more sure of the abilities and the strength they may have, it is assisting with improving self esteem and building good morale and making the team be a team.
They are getting stronger in the weight room.
He has gave them a diet to follow each day that has a significant amount of protein in it, they are basically eating every 2-3 hours all day long until bed. This should build muscles and increase their metabolism.
It is exciting to see our program going in this direction.:thumb:

The boys are hitting still hitting the weights very hard after school.

Hey Coupon, are there going to be reserved seating built in the new stands.........ones with backs in them?
This was discussed at the BOE meeting as a few of the council would like to see it done as a way to have an increase in revenue as well as nice seats for our community to reserve for GCHS football games.
-
GC will be getting new bleachers, lights and fieldhouse this offseason. Dont know if fieldhouse will be done before the season starts.
We have to give great props to our BOE for doing what is necessary for our kids to have a safe and good facility for our football program. It was a 5-0 vote last night to do these things.
-
Let's have a good contingency of folks at the BOE meeting tonight in show of support for the football program. Coach request that we show support for the program as of this time he may not be able to attend.
-
BOE Meeting called on Thursday night, April 9, 2009 at 6 p.m. to discuss and possibly vote on all the football projects (lights, bleachers, fieldhouse).
We need to have a good contingent of folks supporting our football program.
