  1. Agreed. But who knows crazy things always seem to happen around district time!
  2. LCA takes on #1 in the state tonight at 8. Predictions? Any chance of an upset tonight?
  3. Scotty Hopson doesn't get Mr. Basketball because Miller is committed to UK. Also a lot of people don't like the way Hopson carries himself on the court. People love Miller, along with Mack's, class. And both Miller and Mack go 100% every play, unlike Hopson who takes plays off. So that's why Hopson doesn't get Mr. Basketball. My vote is still Mack, but I think it goes to Miller.
  4. I have seen all three play several times. I would have to give my vote to Mack, great all around player, and he goes all out every game. Shame UK didnt go after him earlier. Miller is also a great player, as is Hopson, but the laziness on the defensive end of the court, I believe, is the downfall for Hopson.
  5. LCA is host to the district tourney. But their gym doesnt have enough seats. I take LCA by 12 in this one. Should be a great game!
  6. I'm thinkin LCA by 15.. question for LCA fans... I watched LCA play a few weeks ago against Dunbar.. and there was a kid, #24 I think who was draining threes from almost half court in warm ups... but then he didnt play much at all... any one know how a kid with that kind of shot isn't getting any clock????
  7. They 30 plus point loss in the fifth/third can be a bit deceiving as well. along with their losses to scott and lexcath(the first time) LCA was within 8 at the end of the third. all of which ended up being blowouts. i say this just to point out Lexington Christian can play with the best
  8. two seniors. both of which contributed significantly. but they return 3 starters along with tons more experience that they lacked last year. LCA is the best team in the state with a losing record IMO. i think they pull this one out by 15.
  9. LCA by ten. they are playing well despite losing several in a row, took number 1 ranked Catholic down to the wire tuesday night and have played in many big games so the large crowd shouldnt bother them... the key for LCA is rebounding, if they rebound well, i say they win. Look for a big game from senior Cam Marshall, hes been playing great and in my opinion is one of the most underrated players in the state.
  10. Im not declaring LCA's innocence.. all im saying is that the paper misquoted what actually happened. LCA was fined 3000 dollars total. the first 2000 was because of an event that occured over 5 years ago. An LCA soccer player's father was layed off from his job and could no longer afford to send his son to LCA. to prevent this kid from having to switch schools several parents got together and gathered 800 dollars total, on 2 seperate occasions, to allow this kid to remain at LCA. This is a violation of KHSAA rules because tuition assistance from anyone outside an athletes immediate family is not allowed. while this was a violation of rules it is no form of recruiting. The next 1000 dollar fine was because of several Baptist churches that chose to assist minority students with scholarships to private schools to promote diversity in Christian and Catholic schools. So because of this ruling these students will no longer be able to receive this aid, simply because they are athletes. however any student that is not an athlete would still be eligible to receive this aid. this, in my opinion, doesnt make much sense. All allegations of recruitment were completely dismissed. So other than speculation, which to my knowledge is all untrue, LCA is innocent of any recruiting. It has all been misinterpreted in the media. I am not saying that these acts dont deserve punishment. rules are rules. but the punishment IMO was severe enough.
  11. people hear things through the grapevine and have no idea what is actually going on. I am not defending LCA, but most of the things being said on this topic are completely untrue or at the very least unproven. the herald-leader amongst other media have made what actually happened much worse than it actually is. people should get their facts straight before they talk about this subject.
  12. 3 might be a little high for LCA, but id watch out for them, their schedule is goin 2 have them prepared for anyone. my top 5: 1. Elliott 2. UHA 3. Shelby Valley 4. LCA 5. Paintsville I havent seen June Buchanan play, the Clark Stepp kid plays there, correct?
  13. 1. Lex Cath 2. Scott Co 3. Bryan Station 4. Dunbar 5. Henry Clay 6. LCA 7. Tates Creek 8. Woodford Co. 9. Madison Central 10. Franklin Co. 11. Lafyette 12. Western Hills 13. Berea 14. Sayre 15. Madison Southern 16. Model 17. Frankfort
  14. ill definitely second huston from LCA.. he has taken a below par single "A" school to a winning record in the toughest region, along with one of the toughest schedules, in the state... he is really starting to build a program over there.
