  1. Walton Verona also has a few kids with some varsity experience returning. If my recollection is right, Vance Sullivan and Jordan Ponzer played quiet a bit in the regional tournament. I think Sullivan is a nice point guard who will learn with time to make better decisions and Ponzer is a nice scorer, who showed he can play with the big boys. I think Walton is in need of a big man, but who couldn't use a big man. I think Vance and Jordan really contributed to the regional game this year, and I would expect big things from them coming up next year. As far as being a contender, I wouldn't expect that until their senior year. But who knows? Anything can happen.

  2. Today (Sunday, March 16th) at the Northern Kentucky Coaches Association Banquet, Arrez Henderson was honored as the 9th Region Player of the Year.

He was also named the Division I Player of the Year and the Division I Defensive Player of the Year.

This certainly speaks well for the esteem in which he is held by his peers and all of the Northern Kentucky coaches.

    Congratulations!

Congratulations to Arrez. He was well deserving of all of these accolades. Good worker and all around nice young man.

  3. Camacho should of retired a while back, he holds a grudge against WV IMO, he should have been scratched. He was on duty the same night that Williamstown & WV Rugby Scrum broke out.

I heard more negatives from a post player from WV's team last season tonight, maybe he should support the team he played for and not continually bash the same 2 players he does everygame he is at.

Congrats to North Oldham on the victory even though it was an ugly one and also congrats goes out to the 5 seniors from Walton Verona (Ponzer, Jones, Kirk, Hopperton and Martin)

Yeah, Wyldwynks has a field day bashing those fine players. Jealousy is pretty easy to see through, and it only makes him look stupid.

  4. Congratulations to SK. Good all around team effort. They won however they did not dominate this game. IMO WV's play especially during the first half was more impressive than SK's entire game. SK's Maegley and Barnes stepped up in the second half against WV's disappointing 3rd quarter of only 4 points. MVP Dressman played well, but the effort from WV's Jones who IMO dominated the game from both sides was probably more deserving of the MVP had WV won. Mostly contributing to WV's loss were the lackluster effort from Kirk and the unsportsmanship conduct displayed by P Ponzer toward his teammates and his coach during the end of the game. I witnessed firsthand from direct by his bench both his comments and his actions. Its unfortunate for the program when parents/coaches allow and at times even reward this kind of behavior. IMO Sullivan or Hopperton were more deserving of the all-tournament award than Ponzer.

It seems to me from looking at your post in the past, you tend to pipe up only with negative bashing against Ponzer. I really hope a moderator will put an end to this, because it is easy to see through and really boring.

  5. I was also behind Walton's bench, and I can tell you Walton's coach is the one who was way wrong. What happened should not be tolerated at any school. I don't know what WyldWink has against the kid, but he certainly was a catalyst for Walton's success this year. Oh yeah, and I don't have a thing for last names either, whatever that means. I think the right people got the all tournament team.

  6. Payton Ponzer was sitting on the bench when the wrestling on the floor started with Martin and a W-town player, so I'm still not clear on why he was asked to go to the locker room by the AD. I know he received no technical or ejection. I guess time will tell what will shake out with the rest of this. It seemed to me W-town was looking for a fight. Just my opinion. I'm sure those involved will be appropriately dealt with, and learn from the mistakes.

  7. Maegley doesn't belong in the top ten in your opinion, but Ponzer from Walton does. What a joke!! Maegley has better stats against better competition. Tell Walton to play a tougher schedule.

You think your opinion is gospel, but mine is a joke. Get a grip! My opinion is my opinion. And yours is just that, your opinion. It sounds like you think your better or smarter than the rest of us. I stand by my opinion. I think your opinion is a bit of joke also. Try to play nice. :dancingpa

  8. Jones is a nice player from Walton but he is not a top 10 player. IMO, he's probably not the best player on his team.

    Ponzer - Walton Verona

    Penny - Anderson County

    Maegley - Simon Kenton

    Maddox - Gallatin County

Here are a few who would certainly be considered for 10 status. The shooting guard for Owen County might make the list however his name escapes me at this point.

I agree with this list. Cody Minnus would also be on my list. There are some standout players on Oldham County teams, but can't think of names right now. Ponzer from Simon Kenton is a very unselfish and solid player.

  9. Payton Ponzer had quite a few assists, and took the ball to the rim with no problem. Jones had some nice buckets also. Mike Martin played some nice defense and I also thought Kirk played well. Little Ponzer is a very nice player. He will be fun to watch in the next couple of years. A nice win against a tough physical team to play on their home floor.

  10. there is a main contributer on this Walton team that does not by into that way of thinking and now it is starting to cost them some wins. Also it is putting a rip between players on this team.

From reading the post the other day when you questioned why Ponzer was taking the clutch shots (Not shoots, jethro!), I'm gonna go out on a limb, and guess you are trying to imply Ponzer is costing them games. What a joke! You are obviously some couch potatoe who has never played a game of competitive basketball in your life. Have you even been to all the games? I have been to all of the games this season, except for the tournament games and I can tell you, he is the catalyst for the games they win. And as for the games they lose;it is because they sit around trying to get the three instead of taking it to the rim, and not playing good defense. I'm not sure about any internal problems, but I do know that no one is more unselfish a player than Payton Ponzer. I think maybe you got some sort of hard on for the kid, and thats more your problem than the teams, so try to keep it to yourself.
