  1. If Lewis County guards play up to their potential and pressure Russell, I think they can overcome Russell's size. Lewis County has got to shoot the ball well but more important, pressure Russell's guards the whole game. It should be a very good ball game. Both teams are very well coached. Good luck to both teams.
  2. Statmaster: If I'm not mistaken, Scotie Pippen played for Central Arkansas which I believe is a Division II school. A couple of years ago, there was a kid from Rowan County, Bryant Furman, his mother went to the same school as Scottie Pippen and were good friends. I actually saw a Central Arkansas magazine that had his mother and Scottie Pippen on the front cover. That is very impressive. Her son, Bryant Furman, was a good player back in the day. :thumb: I'm in my 50's and I remember when he played back in Central Arkansas.
  3. Guys! I know its a dream for kids to play Division I but you know there is nothing wrong playing DII, DIII, or NAIA. You take Georgetown's Men's program or Campbellsville University, they are mostly all DI transfers and are playing NAIA. National recognition, tv exposure, newspaper, and getting an education upon that. I know they may not all graduate but talking to so many people that has played at both levels, bottom line is that everybody is different and it takes different people to make a world. A lot of people don't know about Division II. Hey, Virginia Union, Virginia State, Bowie State, Livingstone, etc.... Guys these teams in Division II produce great NBA players, and a lot of people around here doesn't know that. Division II produces lots of NBA players, big time! Just because someone is DI doesn't give the inclusive and trademark that its a better situation for a kid. But just remember, if you live right, pray everyday, and do the right thing, the good guy up above will take care of you and will put you where he wants you to be anyway. :thumb:
  4. If Elliott County wins the 16th, they will definitely need to make adjustments if they play again. First of all, they have to take care of business. May have to change type of defenses to contain Miller and Middleton better. But let me say this: When Miller wants to play and I mean play, then there is not much you can do. Elliott has got to have more possessions and more shots than Mason and I do not mean a small number. Hey Wireman, I heard you could shoot it back in your playing days. I heard you could stoke them from 30 feet. No joke! :ylsuper:
  5. My fault Hoops_Gal. I haven't really watched other girls in the state.
  6. Leslie Eagle needs to say, "Give me the ball and move out of the way." If she would have that scorers mentality I really think she could be a top 5 player in the state. :fight: I think she needs to eat "RAW BACON" for her pregame meal and I think she could do it. She has a tremendous gift from God but she needs to be more selfish to help her team. Not saying that in a negative way, but if she would have more of the scorers mentality, I think she would help her team more effectively. :ylsuper:
  7. Mason County has great tradition guys. Think of the past players: Chris Lofton, Timmy Myrick, Shawn Myrick, Wes Jones, Harry Lewis, Dustin Grutza, Jarod Litzinger, Deron Feldhous (spelling may be wrong), Butler kid, Kelly Middleton, Chris O'Hearn and not forget Maysville Bulldogs past either. I can't think of the other player from Maysville that played for UK (long time ago). Great tradition especially in the Maysville area. The 10th Region is just tough. It is probably hands down the top 4 hardest regions in the state every year. Just think of the players that has came out of the 10th Region: Alvin Simms, Chris Lofton, Chez Marks, Kevin Reinhart, Timmy Myrick, Shawn Myrick, Deron Feldhaus, Robbie Graham, Josh Graham, Wes Burtner, Billy Ray Fawns, Ken Lee, Larry Tiller, Robinson kid from Bourbon County and there is another guy from Bourbon County that was tough, Clark County has had great players, and many more....... I know someone knows more than me. This will be good for Elliott County even though the score may not look like it, but you won't play a team in the 16th Region that is like Mason County. Elliott County will bounce back. Those kids have great instincts on the floor, very good basketball awareness.
