  1. The coaches already sent the messages to the players that they was playing for next year when they decided to start zack when rouse was 1st hurt. The panthers were 2-2 and insted of starting the most athletic player on the team (grant logan) that was the backup in preseason, they started zack. So the coaches already sent that message!!! So i think they should play the sophomore and let rouse rest and get ready for basketball his best sport.

Grant Logan is not a quarterback. He is a WR. He's not the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th choice at QB.

  2. Ludlow is definitely struggling this year and playing awful. I wonder if Coach Borchers should be concerned about a job?

You have got to be kidding me. It seems like every week you get on here and bash Ludlow or Borchers about something. If you want to say Ludlow is struggling, you had best say Bellevue is struggling too and it doesn't look like things are going to get any better for them. I also don't think you have any right to ask if Borchers job is in trouble in this thread. Start a new one, don't come into a thread talking about the Ludlow-Grant game and start bashing the coach or the team. Remember, these are high school kids and they also get on here and read what you have to say. Maybe you should think about some things before you actually post.

  3. I agree. Especially when it comes to coaches. I would seriously like to see some of these "fans" that claim they can be a better coach actually break down film, study players and plays and try to find a weakness, then try and motivate the kids each and every week to go like its the last play they will ever play. A lot of the times the parents or fans say that they can coach better than the coaches, but those coaches are on the sidelines for a reason. I think they know what they are doing.

  4. One thing we have to realize in Northern Ky. In class A and AA we have the very best teams in the state right here. Dayton, Ludlow and Bellevue all could beat the majority of A school around the state. FC you are correct in that these teams would split if they played more than once.

I agree, if you look at 1A in NKY, there is no doubt in my mind it is one of the strongest classes in the state. I've always liked watching smaller schools over the bigger ones because you get to see these kids play their hearts out everyday.

  5. Does that name sound familiar? His younger brother had the first interception of the game that set up the first TD...

on the game, well, it was ugly, all the way around... and it kind of came down to Ludlow made the last mistake... it was kind of careless IMO. Don't get me wrong Rouse did what he could most of the night with what was given to him, but it seemed like he kinda just reared back and let that one fly, somewhat ill advised. To his credit, he was backed up into his own end zone or near it with pressure in his face...

Rouse got hit on that throw. Had he not, that might have been six for Ludlow because Trammel had his man beat. Great game defensively for Dayton. They knew Ludlow was a pass first team and they came out and stopped the pass. Who is that #75 for Dayton? He's a big kid with a good football build on him.

  6. Jarrett Rouse is the QBs name, and the wide receivers name is Grant Logan. He is the brother of Jordan Logan who was an all star at Ludlow. Grant hasn't played football the last couple of years at Ludlow for some reason. However he finally decided to come back out this year to the team and has done great things. He is very fast, with great hands, and makes alot of plays after the catch by making people miss. He had 12 catches last week for 180 yards, and had a punt return of 75 yards to the 3 yard line, but got called back cause of holding. Not to mention a amazing 1 handed interception on defense.. Ludlow has 4 receivers this year who are really good playmakers, and 3 of them didn't even play last year. The only one who did play last year was Buddy Ludsford who set records at receiver last year for Ludlow, but he has pretty much became around the teams 3rd or 4th receiver this year and concentrates more on defense...Ludlow's offense this year is definitely their strength, its the defense that needs some work for Ludlow. However they have improved every week, which is a good a thing...

Grant is a vital piece to the Ludlow recieving core. All the coaches feel that while he is smaller than they would like, he has game breaking ability. As for Buddy being the 3 or 4 receiver, in this style of offense there really is no clear cut number 1 WR. Each week a different WR could be the #1 option. It really depends on who is running their routes the best and what the defense is giving them. I would have to say one of the areas I've been most impressed with is the offensive line. While Ludlow hasn't boosted huge running numbers, they have done a great job pass blocking for Jarrett and the wide recievers. I would venture to say that this is the deepest the Panthers have been at reciever in a very long time. Any one of the WR's has the ability to turn a 6 yard catch into something more and score when the ball is in their hands.

  7. First off, when it comes to smaller schools like Ludlow, Bellevue, and Dayton, the game is always going to be a battle. These games are very rarely blowouts because put all their bodies on the line.

Second off, when it comes to starting some type of a little feud between Borchers and Eckstein and who could outcoach who, i'm sure if you were to ask either coach, they would both say they respect the other coach and they are actually friends outside of football. So let's go ahead and drop that discussion.

Third, it should be a great game Friday. I look forward to finding out who won this game. And there is really no reason to be taking personal jabs at the other team. I know that both of these programs teach class to their kids and coaches and I'm sure they would want their fans showing the same class.

  8. Bellevue's win against Paris was 40-20 and the reason I pick Bellevue in this one is their tough defense that has not allowed many yards in both games and caused many turnovers and because of their conditioning which proved superior to that of Paris and Newport

I believe he was stating that it was 27-20 before Bellevue put them away. If you want to play the turnovers game here, Ludlow is +8 in the turnover department. It will be an even game.

  9. Daytons offense will go nowhere. This will leave the defense on the field for the majority of the game. Therefore Beechwoods big guys up front and Bankemper will dominate the game.

    Beechwood 42

    Dayton 0

I would have to agree with you for the most part.

    Beechwood 42

    Dayton 7

After seeing Daytons offense this year, I don't believe they will be able to move the ball at all against Beechwood untill maybe the reserve team is in.

  10. Its good to hear that the defense is improving. And No offense to Carroll Co. but Ludlows defense still has to be better than that, giving 17 points up to Carroll Co. is still to much IMO. When they play Bellevue next week they will be playing a team with a better offense than Carroll this year, and definitely a better defense. So the defense is going to have to take a big jump next week, because even though Ludlow does have a very good offense who is going to score points, they are going to be going against the best defense they seen yet. So they are going to need to defense to stop Bellevues offense, and I know I wasn't at the game this week, but from hearing that we gave up 17 points, that wont be good enough next week because Bellevue would get more than that if we play defense like we did this week because they are better team than Carroll Co. So Its good to hear they did improve though this week and keep improving every week, but now the defense needs to take an even bigger jump this week, and I believe they can do it though...

There is no doubt in my mind the Panthers can make that jump. As most know when it comes to Ludlow/Bellevue, it's a war on the field.

  11. Another very good offensive showing for Ludlow. Ludlow has a great offense this year and is going to score alot of points. Now if the defense can just come around and get better every week they could be a VERY good team...

Ludlow's defense improved vastly compared to last week. One of Carroll's three touchdowns was on a returned kickoff, so the defense allowed 17 points, which isn't the best, but they are showing improvement every week.

  12. Montooth had a few catches for around 80 yards and a touchdown. He was huge on defense though with three interceptions. In total tonight, Ludlow's defense stepped up when they were called upon. The had a total of seven interceptions. Montooth with 3, Helmer with 1, Dunn with 1, Banks with 1, and Grant Logan with a huge 60+ yard interception return for a touchdown to close the game. The score doesn't really tell the whole story as it was 26-24 Ludlow most of the game. Coach Randy Borchers has always coached that teams that win the game in the 2nd and 4th quarter are the teams that will win the game. Ludlow scored three big touchdowns in the 4th to put the game away. 4 of the 5 teams out of Ludlows division are now 2-0. (Ludlow, Bellevue, Dayton, and Beechwood.)
