I agree with being unselfish starts at home, I too have always practiced this with my kids at home, but it's hard to watch players being selfish when it hurts the team. Not being taught at home is not an excuse for being allowed to play this way at the High School level. I think everyone in the gym last night, I know you said you weren't there, seen the same thing I did. I hope the team and new coach do well, especially after last season they deserve it, but last season has nothing to do with the selfish play last night. Only a couple of the players even seen Varsity time last year. I wish Greenup Co. the best and hopefully it's still to early to tell how the season will end up. Last night was just a scrimmage and hopefully it will get a lot better.

I agree with learning to play the WHOLE game. Greenup played Minford, Oh. tonight and that was obvious. Minford 20+. Too many players concentrating on one thing, shooting, regardless as to whether they're open or not. Dribble the length of the floor and throw up a shot with three people on them, while teammates are wide open. The fast pace looked like it caused twice as many turnovers as it created. The best shooter on the team, Middleton, was one of a couple players off the first and second string that didn't play selfish. Going to be a long season if they don't learn (be taught) to pass the ball and play as a team.

How did Greenup's "leadership" put a stop to it? I heard Coach Hicks wasn't very excited about it in the first place.

I've heard that Greenup will be a lot better than Bath Co. and shouldn't even be a close game. Greenup by 20.

I'd say the starting five for Greenup Varsity will be; Perry, Baker, Middleton, Craft and Adkins. Just my opinion.

Not sure how much help they will be, either. All three have a lot of maturing to do, but seem to have really good baskeball ability. Heard Williams didn't play much this summer, trying to decide what school to attend or whatever, Tackett played a lot of minutes and Justice seen some time, too. All should be really strong in a couple of years.
