  1. AJ chose Indiana over offers from Kentucky and Louisville among others.
  2. AJ Hacker has asked for and was granted his release from Morehead St after coach Mike McGuire announced he is leaving for South Carolina Upstate. AJ is now free and actively in talks with other programs.
  3. This was a very gutsy performance by AJ Hacker. To come out and pitch two days after being Mr Baseball is tremendous expectation and a lot of pressure for a 18 year old kid. He struggled at first but recovered with a gutsy performance to a tremendous McCracken County team. He did not have his best fastball tonight but kept the McCracken team to one run before he exited the game. What a great year and a bright future for this young man!
  4. Congratulations to AJ and it should be noted that AJ is originally from NKY and it just shows the amount of talent that come from the NKY area is just amazing. His Dad was a star at Boone County along with AJ’s aunt and uncles and his grandfather.
  5. Updated stats for AJ Hacker. Pitching: 11W-1L 1 S 76.2 IP 129 Ks 0.54 ERA 0.70 WHIP Hitting: .461 AVG 52 RBI 9 HR .605 OBP .814 SLG
  6. Yes Morehead has a short right field but the but the fence is 50 ft tall and this was no “routine” fly ball. It’s irrelevant any way and I am not sure what your point is.
  7. I have to say that the title of this thread is a little misleading by asking the question if Castleman is the “runaway” choice. He is by no way a runaway choice. Both of these players have had great stats all year and have bright futures. Castleman has great hitting stats as mentioned. AJ Hackers hitting stats may not be as fruitful has Castlemans but they are also very good. What separates Hacker to be the favorite is that along with the hitting stats is he pitching. He has been one of the top pitchers in the state for two year. Hitting: Batting Average: .446 Home runs: #15 with 9, according to KHSSA RBI’s. #18 with 49 Slugging % #21 with .828 Walks: #12 with 30 Pitching: ERA: #4 with 0.60 Strikeouts: #3 with 120 (lead the state in 2018) Wins: 10 with a 10-1 record Innings Pitched: #6 with 69 Castleman had a great first game in the tournament but Hacker was even bigger. CG, 2hits, 9k’s 0 BB’s, 0 runs and was 1-3 with 4 rbis and a shot off the top of the right field netting at Morehead State that was the difference in the game. This was Hackers 6th straight shut out.
  8. Yes, NDA has a new coach. His name is Wyatt Foust. He was the assistant coach for Greenwood varsity boys team last year. I know that Kennedy Baugh from Simon Kenton has transferred to NDA. She should get some time of the bench on the varsity team as a freshman. I have also heard they a have a couple of freshman post players coming in that are 5-11 and 6-0 that are solid. It is going to be hard to replace the talent they have on the JR and Sr levels but you never know.
  9. What the future of Notre Dame look like as far as incoming freshman and current sophmores?
