It's a FACT that St.X trounced Trinity in the regular season the past several years but we have seen how those games play out the second time. HHS beats a team by 5 points who isn't even the best team in the city of Cincinnati and suddenly they are the best team in the history of Kentucky. You guys live it up with your year in the spot light. It's been a long time since Lorenzen has been there and you aren't use to this kinda thing. Next year it's back to comparing enrollment numbers instead of who's a better team.

Highlands Currently Ranked #2 in Nation

To be fair these are the same people that ranked Cincy X #3 in the country earlier this year. -
Unpossible. One game is THE deciding factor on how good a team is for the year. The result would have been the same. :thumb: Or at least this is what I've heard from HHS all year.

I'll enjoy my fantasy and you be sure to keep your head in the sand.

Simon Kenton 2009 vs Trinity 2009
DELTA_Rotary replied to jimmyref's topic in KY Football (High School)
Having seen both I think it would be close with T pulling it out. X was up 34-7 on SK and took their foot off the gas plain and simple. -
Did HHS play anyone ranked in the top 10 in the state this year? I know X beat 5 of the top 10 and T twice. Ryle and Manual are the only two on Highlands schedule. Since you like rankings so much check out the Litkenhous ratings.

No I think both HHS and Lou St.X would not have done better than Cincy St.X if they played their schedule. I believe the fantasy HHS, Lou. St.X game would be a close game and a coin toss could have decided the game. I do believe that HHS would have struggled with Lou. St.Xs schedule much more than their own tip toe through the tulips. If you wanna bury your head in the sand at the thought that one game decides which team is better than by all means keep the delusion alive.

Are those the same people that had Cincy X ranked as high as #3 in the nation this year? Are they even the 3rd best team in the city?
-
Never said HHS didnt deserve to win. What about the other points I brought up?

Does Mclean Co. have a claim they are better than Paducah Tilghman this year even though PT won the championship or were they just a better team that game? What about Union Co. They beat PT in the regular season only to lose to them in the playoffs. Who is the better team?
-
Cincy St.X certainly outplayed Lou. in that game. I never realized that once a team beats another in one game that automatically makes them better. I guess in your world there are no cinderella stories only better teams. What happens when a team doesn't go underfeated when they win a championship? How about Trinity in 05? They lost their first 4 games before winning the championship. How about Paducah T. this year? They were a 4 seed. Are they not the best team in 3A this year? Do the teams that beat them during the regular season have a claim that they are better? Do you honestly think that if HHS would have played Cincy X's. schedule they would have had a better record or do you think HHS in that game was the better team?
-
How many times has St.X trounced Trinity in the regular season only to get beat the second time around? This year is the first time since 2003 that the winner has won both games. Using one game (at the beginning of the year) to determine who would win between HHS and St.X is weak just like the type of schedule HHS played the rest of the year.

Over 5 minutes left up by 18? I think the Simon Kenton game showed what happens when you take your foot off the gas against a good team. -

My favorite stat is the one where Henry Clay beat SK 42-31 and St. X beat Henry Clay 28-0.
