  1. Grades were not an issue with Pelle to NKU. NKU left his recruitment to one of the assistants and West Liberty State outrecruited NKU for his services with daily contact.
  2. IMO Gillispie should be given a 'free ride' for a couple of years when it comes to recruiting. It's going to take a little while to balance out the roster when it comes to talent and scholarships by class. Just my opinion, but it appears he's done more on the recruiting trail in two weeks than Tubby has done in the last two years.
  3. Never seen him play, but obviously the following factors (in no particular order) came into play: 1) The current scholarship imbalance. 2) The fact that Tubby signed Ramon Harris for 2006. 3) Too many other players at the same position. 4) UK's greatest needs are center, point guard, and power forward. I hope Pettigrew has a successful career wherever he chooses to play.
  4. “(Gillispie) talked about if I would have time to wait two more weeks,” Pettigrew said after shooting around in Charlie Rawlings Memorial Gymnasium shortly after school on Wednesday. “I told him I am just going to forget all about them and just go on and look at the options I already have. Two weeks is too long. Pettigrew, who led the state in scoring with 33.6 points and 13.3 rebounds per game, is still weighing scholarship offers from Xavier, Western Kentucky and Duquesne. He is scheduled to make an official visit to Xavier (in Cincinnati) today, but as of Wednesday afternoon he wasn’t sure if he was still going to make the trip. “I have been getting behind in my work,” Pettigrew said. “School is getting pretty hard for me. I keep missing too many days of school.” Here's the link: http://www.thenewsenterprise.com/articles/2007/04/19/sports/sports01.txt
  5. Austin Hill did get listed as 'honorable mention'.
  6. Foul trouble and turnovers plagued him much of the first half. He took over down the stretch and was very effective especially in the fourth quarter. This is the first time I have seen him play. I've also seen Hopson play against Brossart in the 'All A'. Keep in mind I have only seen each play once, but tons of talent and potential with both players. Right now I'd give the overall edge to Miller because he passed better in the game I saw and played defense. Even with foul trouble, Miller probably had about half a dozen blocks in today's game.
  7. Congrats to the Mustangs on advancing to their 2nd All 'A' KY Championship game. Cooper was recognized as player of the game. Great defense, system, and teamwork won out on athleticism and individual player rankings. I truly hope that this coaching staff stays around until my nephews attend Brossart (Class of 2013 and 2016). Good luck to Brossart in the Championship game!
  8. I haven't seen University Heights play so I won't make a prediction. Although it will be interesting to see how Brossart matches up with Scotty Hopson and Ryan Langhi. Hopson 6'6" is rated a 5 star recruit by Rivals.com and was rated as the #10 player and #1 small forward in the class of 2008. He has verbally commited to play for Mississippi State. Ryan Langhi 6'11" is rated a 2 star recruit by Rivals.com. Good Luck Brossart!!!
  9. I was at the game last night and he is wearing a cast or wrap on his arm/hand. You shouldn't be calling out a high school player without informed information. As someone has already mentioned above, the doctors, coaches, and/or his parents also have a say in whether or not his he 'ready to play'. Good luck Mustangs!
  10. Congrats to the Mustangs on making it to the semi-finals! Close game the whole way. Brossart's biggest lead may have been 6 points with Gallatin leading by 2-3 in the 4th quarter. Jimmy Uebel was recognized as player of the game. Good luck the rest of the way!
  11. Missed the other thread that had already been started.

  13. Congrats to the Trains on the team's 6th straight win! Every player that gets in the game contributes. It takes an entire group effort to play as unselfishly as they do. As mentioned above, Corey Pelle scored 42 points which eclipsed his previous career high score of 40. Corey was honored before the game for scoring his 1,000 point during the Holiday Tournament in Berea, KY. He joins his brother Justin who accomplished the same feat last year. Teddy Wiseman also continues his streak of playing extremely well. Congratulations to Teddy for being one of this weeks KY Post Top Performers. Good luck to Silver Grove as they play next week in the Tenth Region All 'A' Classic.
  14. I'd say Pelle and Wiseman are better than 'good'. I think the rematch will be a very fun game to watch. Didn't see the first game and am looking forward to this one.
