The best state for high school hoops....KENTUCKY
  1. Graves Co- Either the big boy, Cavette- an extremely great passer and finisher around the basket with a nice built body (6'6'', 260) but his downfall is his attitude- or the piont guard Simms-he hit very many big shots down the stretch and was the only person that could handle the ball Christian Co.- did not see them play, but I heard they were VERY athletic but lacking the shooting touch Apollo-Either Doug Denton-handled the ball extremely well throughout the tournament and hit many big 3's or Tyler Brown-who was a consistent scorer throughout the tournament Warren Central-Jeremy Anderson has one of the smoothest shots in the state -WC's offense creates many good lucks for him because they are continually moving without the ball John Hardin- Had a very good player in Maze Stallworth from what I've seen before the state tournament. Maybe a disappointment versus South Laurel. PRP- Undoubtedly Vincent Crutcher- he was dominant the whole tournament and scored at will. The charge call against him at the end of the Apollo game was horrible. That became his fifth foul, gave Apollo the ball, and if the layup would have counted, it would have been a 1 point game. Jtown-I was very impressed with Ceedrick Ware, he was the only consistent scorer along. Thomas Coleman may be big, but he has a horrible set of hands. He didn't do much until the Championship game (way to step up) Shelby Co.-AJ Slaughter had his way all game. I was impressed with his defensive quickness. Cov Cath-Todd Jacobs was a leader on the floor that hit the open looks. He has a very nice shot. Mason Co.-Micah Turner showed up throughout tournament. During the season, he was not known to hit the three, but he sure hit them during the tournament. Madison Central-The general on the floor for the Indians was the quick point guard Andrew Mathis. He pushed the ball up the floor at every opportunity and made things happen. Boyle County- Brian Staed had Boyle's first nine points and was very solid in middle. Needs to work on his conditioning and mobility. South Laurel- Ty Proffitt hit big shot after big shot in this game. He was the general on the floor. I bet he wishes he could have that last shot back in overtime because it was not a good one. Hazard- Didn't see much standout talent because of the whooping Madison Central put on them but Justin Hicks was probably their best player. Johnson Central-Did not see them play Russel-Did not see them play. I would guess that Jon VanHoose was their best player. d
  2. Warren Central has two dandy players in Nick Britt and Jeremy Anderson. Warren Central's inside presence is not as stong as it used to be. Mason County has two primary players in Micah Turner and Darius Miller. They are the heart of this team. As only a freshman, Middleton has consistently played well and will improve Mason's chances.
  3. The call was that Skinner through the ball of the PC player's foot..... ball to Clark County.
  4. Can anybody update me on the score of the game?
  5. Does anybody have the final score of the game tonight?
  6. Agreed. When your team has "it", and the fans know that they have "it", you might as well live it to its fullest while you got it. Sorry if you I used it too much. I guess i meant that if you know that you're good, you might as well use that goodness to your advantage.
  7. In respone to blueblood, I am just going to say that I heard what Johnson said from a reliable source. I can take it and belive it or not belive it, but the way in which Johnson complained to the ref gets him a technical. I believe the speaking captain was Vories; therefore, Johnson needs not say anything to the ref, especially with that much emotion. In response to PC fans showing lack of class on here, I am tired of people being negative. All you have to do is state your point positively or negatively. For the most part, PC fans have done that and that is not lack of class or lack of respect. It is pride. Every team in the state has fans that are the same way. It's late February, if you can't get fired up for your team, you don't deserve to be a fan or whatnot. Please, take my comments as literal as possible. I am not knocking on anyone or any group of people. I say what I say becuase of my pride.
  8. Don't get me wrong. Highlands can play with any team in the state, they are good enought to do it. Pendleton was just more focused and apt to respond to the refs. It was bad both ways, who cares. Best of luck to Highlands in the 9th region tournament.
  9. If it wans't for Middleton in the first game, Mason would have been out of it. Mason will need Middleton for this game. Then again, Pendleton needed Terry Davis to hit a 3 at the end of the second overtime to win, and he has a cast on right now that is due to come off the 23rd. It should be an interesting matcup friday.
  10. Amen. You get what you deserve, and Johnson deserved it. Pendleton deserved to win that game last night. They were in better shape then Highlands and they showed it. Pendleton subbed 6 guys in and out while Highlands subbed 9 in and out, and who was sucking wind? Pendleton came out strong and ended even stronger. Good win and glad to see the Wildcats kept their cool in a physical, hostile environment.
  11. Did you see Highlands huddle, NO. They were too busy arguing and complaining about the call. The fact that Highlands had just scored to cut it to three was a big deal in the game. Too bad it was ruined with a cheap shot by Johnson and unability to keep his mouth shut. So, I guess 3 points is a insurmountalbe deficit to overcome? I'd hate to see what happens if they get down by worse.
  12. All I can say is that the referees do not give any team points. Yes, they may call questionable fouls but as to the score, the players decide that. Adversity will come, so deal with it. Both teams seemed to deal with it fine. Highlands lost focus after they made a bit of a run, and they lost it there. It doesn't matter if Johnson got the technical then or not, the players should have pulled themselves together and discussed the game and not worry about the foul. Pendleton did band together and have a "meeting" after the technical and look what happened.
  13. Well, if you thought that PC was taken out of their game tonight, maybe that's a good thing? In what aspects do you think they were taken out of their game?
  14. It doesn't matter what a player says to the ref, and Johnson did say something to the ref, he/she SHOULD get a technical. Refs do not have to deal with players mouthing off. Players should play and put the ball in the hole and not have to react to a ref's decision. Coaches coach which includes: talking to their players, talking to the assistant coaches, and working up the refs. Refs call the game as they see it; it may not be perfect, but coaches and players both have to react to it in the best way possible. Adversity is going to come from the refs; you just have to deal with it. As for Johnson getting a technical, I agree. I have seen refs do the same thing to others players, and the consistency with refs in that aspect has been very decent.
  15. Casey Alsop from Scott County has to also come into play. He could light the perimeter up. He went on to play at Georgetown College, where he continued to light it up for Happy Osbourne.
