[h=1]Basketball: Hard work pays for Ballard's Aaron Murray[/h][h=2]Senior emerges with 15 points, 10 rebounds[/h]

Ballard (20-6), No. 2 in The Courier-Journal’s Litkenhous Ratings, won its seventh straight and clinched the No. 1 seed for the 28th District Tournament this month.

The Bruins got typical strong performances from the backcourt of Quentin Snider (19 points) and Lavonne Holland (18 points).

But Murray, a 6-foot-8 senior who transferred to Ballard after three years of missionary work in Zambia, played a huge role with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The Bruins jumped to a 15-2 lead and led by as many as 27 points on their way to an 85-65 whipping of host Eastern.

Coach Renner likes the way the Bruins are coming together.
