Unless my math is incorrect that was Erik Goetz's 100th win in the middle of his 7th season at the Cross.

Holy Cross moves on to play St. Henry in Semifinal Number One at 6pm on Friday at Beechwood HS.

The Indians led 47-22 with about 3:50 left in the 3rd Qtr...Newport went on a 19-4 run until Jake Burger hit a bank 3 at the horn to give HC a 13 point lead at 54-41. In the 4th, I think Newport just ran out of gas as the Indians outscored them 24-4 in the 4th.

Burger had 23 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists and Tony Campbell had 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks and one sweet alley oop from Travis Thompson that I wish PaNDA was there to shoot.

Statman, I was there last night, did you see me?

Yeah, where were you? I had a stat sheet ready for you at halftime and at the end of the game...geez!

I was standing up by the concession stand all night enjoyed my off night talking to Mr. Skinner from the paper the whole game. You could have given my stat sheet to the guy in the cowboy hat - lol.......... I'll need you on Friday night though. Keep up the good work.

I know I've heard more than a few people over the years say this, but basketball is a much easier game when you can make shots, especially foul shots. I believe we were 17-20 from the foul line when the starters left the game for good and ended up 19-26, one of our best games all year.
