Checking in: Montgomery County

Omar-Prewitt0510-150x150.jpgWith 10th Region powers Mason County and Clark County losing a lot from last year’s team, Montgomery County looks solid in the region this season.

The Indians have a new coach – Tony Wise – but have two big-time scorers returning in Omar Prewitt (photo) and Jake Handshoe. Prewitt is one of the state’s top juniors.

Montgomery County has a Dec. 9 home game against GRC and a game on Dec. 10 in the Kentucky Bank Shootout at Bourbon County against Ashland before competing in the Fayette County Invitational before Christmas.

The Indians will host the Gateway Classic after the holidays, host Pendleton County on Jan. 6, play at Clark County on Jan. 13 and at Madison Central on Jan. 17.

On Jan. 21, Montgomery County plays Letcher Central in the Joe B. Hall Classic on their home court before a Feb. 7 game at home against Henry Clay.
