With 1:23 remaining in the first quarter, Bourbon County's Brent Holman scores on a Garrard County turnover from 65+ yards out and Jose Deluna kicks the extra point.

 

Bourbon leads 7-0.

With 9:05 to go in the first half, Markell Hayes trots in from seven yards out for the Golden Lions score. Garrett Caudill's extra point evens the score at 7-7.

Defense has been the story of the game so far as its 7-7 at the half...sorry for the lack of updates...kinda zoned out there while watching the MLB playoffs...lol.

 

Halftime is close to being over and action is about to get underway.

Hopkins scores for Bourbon County from 29 yards out with 7:24 left in the third. The XP kick is good.

Bourbon might have just had the biggest defensive stand of the game as Garrard had 1st & Goal at the BC 5-yard line but the Golden Lions net only one yard in four plays.

 

There is 6:24 remaining in the game.

And just as I say that, Garrard comes up with a fumble recovery at the Bourbon 31 with about 5:30 left in the game.

Abney to Hayes for a 33 yard touchdown...flag on the play...roughing the passer on Bourbon putting the 2-pt conversion attempt at the 2 yard line...the conversion attempt is no good.

Garrard scores from 6 yards out to take their first lead of the game. Wilson tallies the 2 point conversion.

 

With about 40 seconds to go, Garrard now leads 28-22.

With 8 seconds left, Bourbon attempts a pass that falls incomplete but Garrard is called for a pass interference.

 

The next play saw Bourbon throw for a touchdown with no time remaining...Colonels called for a celebration penalty...extra point to be taken from 35 yards out.

DeLuna's kick is blocked by Dustin Keller...they're headed to overtime tied at 28-28 in Paris.
