This schedule came about because of the realignment of football districts in Jefferson County. We think the new district featuring Male, Manual, St. Xavier and Trinity is a great idea. Our new district opponents are a combined 350+ years old and are steeped in football tradition. We have had great rivalries and games with each through the decades. These are going to be exciting games. Get there early!

We have had great series with our former district rivals Ballard, Eastern and Seneca. Our players loved going against the likes of Devonte Parker, DeMarcus Smith, Jonathan Davis and their teammates. The new district allows the four of us to enjoy some scheduling variety and new foes. We continue to play local schools on the freshman and junior varsity level.

As you know, there are not many Class 6A football schools in Jefferson County. The realignment allowed us to stretch ourselves and build upon some series we have been working on for a number of years.

 

These opponents are similar in terms of size, school and alumni support, size of the coaching staffs, facilities and program success. None of these games are pay-to-play agreements. The home team keeps the revenue from the contest. The visiting team covers its expenses.

Interesting information. As a Rock fan, regardless of how it came about, I think the new opportunities that Trinity (as well as the other 3 schools in our district) can seek will pay off in spades in the future. Upcoming seasons may not be the rousing success on the scoreboard we're used to, but when building a program for the long-term, you take your lumps, learn from them and build upon what you've learned.
