Anderson County 2011/2012

Featured Replies

What does Anderson County need to do to improve in 2011/2012? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

I've watched this team do nothing but improve over the last two years. They will again be one of the front runners for the 8th region title with South Oldham and Walton. Good luck Bearcats!

Since AC will host the 8th region tourney in 2012, give them the nod as the favorite to make it to Diddle. Lots of folks would say that Lawrenceburg is an unforgiving place for opponents to visit.

Anderson County wins Varsity AAU state championship this weekend in Lexington. Looked to be physically more mature and played impressive basketball especially in spurts. Anderson beat Casey Co., Montgomery Co, Rowan Co, Sacred Heart, Madison Central and Clay County. Congrats Lady Bearcats.

Soooo ... are all the other 8th region hopefulls now simply competing for the runner-up spot??? One might think that was the intended message.

Retropop I did not and will not say anything about region being "locked" up. I didn't ride the pep bus to the game either. I will not be so foolish. Simply stated facts about the games and my observation of the team. Maybe you read way too much into these post dawg. Its June!

h20, I'm just testing you, and agree with you wholeheartedly - it's just summer ball in early June. This stuff shows us glimpses of what could be during the winter, but often times the real season is betrayed by what takes place during summer ball. Still, summer basketball workouts are what makes players become better, so it is of great importance. Winning those games against those teams is no small accomplishment, and I did not want to diminish it in any way. Good job AC, and I hope no offense was taken.

Absloutely no offense taken. I agree that summer is where teams and players can decide to get better or not. But i would not try to guess who could win a regional title at this point. Hard enough for me to predict the outcome of the regional after the district tournaments are played. Girls basketball is alot about matchups and whoever is playing well at tourney time. In watching several teams play this past weekend i think the 8th region will be represented this season.
