It look as though on the KHSAA website that every district in baseball decides on their own seeding plan? The 25th District, with Male, Manual, and St. X, has agreed to the following plan:

 

"Ties broken by head-to-head results. If tie remains, the seeding is determined by coin toss."

I know that some districts do not seed at all and different districts do things different ways. I do find the way the 25th district does a tie breaker a little odd. I would think that a couple of more things would be tried before resorting to a coin flip, such as looking at runs allowed or run differential in district games.

That is the way the 35th has done it for years. If I remember correctly, one year CovCath, Beechwood and Holy Cross each were 2-1 in the District and they flipped coins to see who would get the number one seed.

Exactly, why seed then. Seems to me they get half of it right and then turn around and contradict the whole reason for seeding. Ok kids, go bust your butt and every game counts and yeah btw, if we finish in a tie at the end of the season lets hope its coach's lucky day. Weak imo.

With there being only three teams that compete in the 25th, tiebreakers might not be effective. One would think if you used run differential the numbers might all add up to the same. But I agree, it would seem they should perhaps have one other step before going to the coin.
